The Absence of A
You left way too early you didn't hear me say goodbye,
you simply wanted out who was I to question why.
Way too good looking for your own good, eyes of the clearest blue,
you'll never know the feelings I had - that I almost hated you.

You were here now you're gone and have left so many alone,
in your world of cheating and deceit where'd all your morals go.
You shattered my illusion for you were not as you seemed,
to worship the ground you walked on you destroyed the dream

You left us abandoned in the world that lonely day
so many hurt and alone sharing the absence of A.

I remember your smile the most charming of grins,
you rolled the dice you dealt the deck, always needing to win.
I speak to you when it's dark outside but do you ever hear my voice?
You checked out before your time but I guess that was your choice.

Like a candle's flame a light went out in the sky that night,
if you could have your time again would you try and make things right?
If I could turn the clock back perhaps I would have said more,
but life dealt you a cruel hand somehow I think you knew the score.
