Sibling Rivalry

     Their heads bend together,
     Both small and so dark,
     Her hair falls in ringlets,
     His sleek as a shark,
Together planning their next childish lark.

     Giggles errupt from her,
As she hits him and flee's,
     His face is so solomn,
     Where can his smile be
As he chases her around the base of a tree?

He gives her a little push,
     And she stumbles and falls,
He smiles as he runs past her,
     "Come get me!" He calls,
But already she's preoccupied with her dolls.

Sometimes he seems so mean to her,
     Sometimes it's her to him,
Yet other times he so protective,
For her he'd go out on a limb,
And he spoils her much, giving in to her whim.

     Sibling rivalry you would say?
     I'll answer "you bet!"
     But two sweeter, loving children
I'm sure I could never get,
Their love for one another I hope they never forget.
