Hi again! The reviews I got have
encouraged me to write, again. I'm sure
some of you want this to end, but I have a lot more to the plot. And there
will probably be a sequel, which I've thought of. What do ya
think?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
So, exactly who is Than? Hmmmmm....
(the mystery!)

Chapter 15: The Broken Future
By Yuki-hime
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena stared at Mariemeia's retreating figure.
'Him?' she thought.
"I wouldn't worry about that. You have more important business
at the moment, Your Majesty," he stated with contemptment.
She looked at him blankly for a moment. "I'm sorry,
I don't
understand what you mean?"
"You are the Queen of the new world. And I will be the driving
force behind you."
"I'll never be your puppet. Never support anything you say," she
hissed.
"Oh, I think you will," he said laughing. "I certainly think you
will!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heero stared out the window, thinking to himself, as he usually did.
He was totally oblivious to the person that was behind him and their
worring stares.
"Heero, dinner is ready. And Noin said she
wished to speak with you
after we eat," Quatre spoke from the doorway.
He turned and nodded before following him out the door.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena didn't understand what Than meant, and she was
sure she
didn't want to either. The look of confindence was
clearly written on his
face and in his voice. Then it suddenly hit her. He couldn't do anything
to her because of the need for her stature among the people, at least not
now. But he could use her friends. And they were one of the most important
things in her life. He was not only going to destroy the peace she had
worked so very hard to attain, he was going to go after the people she
cared the most about.
Thoughts were swirling relentlessly in Relena's mind. What was she
going to do? Give into his demands and destroy the peace that the world and
colonies had built or give up her loved ones lives? It
was times like this
Relena wished she had never heard of the Gundams and never heard of the name
Peacecraft.
"What's wrong, Miss Peacecraft?" Than laughed. "Can't make the
decision, can you?"
Relena's hands curled beside her. 'Which do I pick? Peace or the
death of my friends?' her mind asked. She closed her eyes and held back the
tears that threatened to consume her as she spoke her answer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heero sat down at the table as the aromas of food floated in the
air. He hadn't realized how hungry he was until then. And he suddenly had
this awful feeling.
Dinner went by slowly as everyone ate in silence, not knowing what
to say. After it was clear that they had finally finished, Dorothy and
Hilde collected the plates as Catherine and Sally Po
gathered the dishes
that held food.
Heero stood up after the women had retreated to the kitchen.
"Wait Heero. I want to speak to you," Noin said as she stood and
walked to the door. "Please follow me so we can talk in private."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena stared at the image before her. The girl looked sad, even
though the dress indicated that there had been a party. Something
to
celebrate. But there had been nothing for her, she didn't know if she
had
made the right choice or not. Now it was too late. The eyes caught her
attention as she looked over the other's appearence. Life-less blue eyes
with sandy blonde hair.
"What have I done?" she whispered as she dropped her head to stare
at the neatly folded hands in her lap. 'There's only one way out of this
situation,' she thought as her mind scrambled for other ways. "Only one."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"She what?" Heero's voice echoed off the walls. "How
could she?"
"I'm ... I don't know Heero," Noin replied,
"but we received a
message earlier."
"Do they know?"
"Not yet. I don't want to alarm everyone to the situation yet. There
might still be a way out or around this."
"Only her death," he whispered then spoke, "I'll take care of
this."
"Wait, what are you going to do?" Noin
asked. "We don't know where
they've taken her. They could be on Earth!"
" ... "
"Fine Heero, I don't care how you do it, just do it," was her
answer as he stepped out the door and walked down the hall.
He knew where to at least begin, the hard part was
actually finding
her.
He stopped as he looked up at the Gundams before him. They shinned
under the light lights that illuminated the docking bay. He silently
walked down the stretch of metal, the footsteps echoing lightly around him,
and stopped in front of Wing Zero.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Than sat in the dinning room, smiling. 'I've finally done it,' he
thought as he typed on the computer that sat before him. When his fingers
stopped, the image of Mariemeia appeared.
"Get what you need done and get back here," he ordered.
"Understood," she replied and the screen was black again.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mariemeia's expression was blank as Than gave her the order to
return. 'Not before I have what I want,' she thought as she continued
typing on the lap-top. The Gundams and their pilots were in space at the
base colony of the Preventers. The players were
accounted for. All except
one. Now, the trouble was tracking him down.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena refused the answer her mind had come to. 'Death is never an
option,' she stood herself. If she could get through the next two days
then she knew that everything would be okay. Heero would find her and
save her.
She smiled at the thought that whenever she was in trouble, Heero
always saved her. She never let her thoughts wonder to what would happen
if he never came.
She glanced at the clock.
and she was tired of sitting in the dress. So she stood and stripped off
the clinging cloth and pulled on the night shirt that had been laid out.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Noin stared at the screen of information. There was
no where to
even begin, and no leads. The kidnappers had done a great job. Sally Po
walked into the room.
"Heero has left for L1," she said. "We know that the Preventers
can't do anything for Relena, not if we can't find her. There are no
leads. What do you want us to do?"
Noin sighed. 'What would Zechs
do?' she thought briefly before
answering. "Wait until Heero contacts us. Tell the others that they may do
what they wish but to keep in contact daily for information. We may have
a lead any day, but the odds are great."
"I understand," she spoke and left.
"Lady Une, hurry," she whispered.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Twelve hours later *
"It's dangerous Heero. And you've had no rest. Do you believe you
can save the world again?" Doctor J. asked as he watched Heero step into
the Gundam.
"I know it's dangerous," he spoke as he asserted himself into
position.
"I understand," he answered.
"Let the others know what's going on. Tell them where Relena is
and that I'll need them there," he spoke in the cold monotone voice.
"Heero."
He looked up at the voice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duo smiled as small asteriod flew in different dierctions. He had
decided to stay like Trowa. There was no telling when the information
might come in. Quatre had to attend to some legal business back home and
Wufei went to Earth.
"Duo, what are you doing?" Trowa's voice
questioned him over the
intercom.
"Practicing. You never know when danger will show
up," he said.
"You're hopeless."
Duo's face lit up with a smile. "What do you mean? You're out here
too!"
"Duo, Trowa. We have information. Get back here
immediately," Noin's
voice demanded.
"Be right there," Duo stated as he followed Trowa's
lead.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Earth, huh?" Duo said.
"Does Wufei know?" Trowa asked.
"We've contacted him. He's on his way," Sally Po replied.
"Well, then what are we doing here?" Duo asked as he jumped up.
"Let's go!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena stirred in her sleep, unaware of the two figures over her.
"We must do this. To save both her and the peace she brought," the
voice echoed lightly.
"But what of the dangers that proceed?" the second
voice questioned.
"Do we hope for the best?"
"Yes. It is either that or we do nothing and let war have it's
grip on them again."
"Do you want the honors?"
"Of course."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I _know_ it's been a while since my last chapter. It's getting hard to
get my story in one direction. I have so many ideas. I think for here on
out, things will start getting werid. I'm really
going to try to keep it
as normal as possible, but my anime watching is getting to me! I think I'm
going to do a sequel. Please email me and let me know what you think. So
please read & review. I love to hear what you think about my story. Thanks.
Has anyone seen Gladitor? It's great!
