Let's see.....*pondering where this
story should go* Actually I have
no idea. So whatever comes out is me just typing! By
the way, I don't
think I've mentioned this lately, but I don't own Gundam Wing.

Where we last left off, our fearless heroine was working feverishly on
some paper work.

Chapter 13: The Confrontation
By Yuki-hime
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena stared at the clock. 'I guess I can't stay any later or
they'll send out a rescue party,' she thought as she stacked odd papers
up and put them in a vanilla folder. She knew what to expect and readied
herself for it, but she couldn't shake the knawing
feeling of something
bad starting to build up again from her heart. She couldn't place it and
that worried her.
'It's just the nerves,' she told herself and pushed the folder into
it's place in the filing cabinet. She turned to get
her jacket from the
hanger and closed the door behind her.
"Have a good evening, Miss Relena," her secretary said as she
walked by.
"Thanks, Mary. You won't have to come in tomorrow. I'm not, there's
been unexpected business come up at the colonies that I have to take care
of," she stated.
"Thank you Miss Relena," Mary said and finished her task at hand
so she could head home.
Relena smiled and headed for the living quarters. One good
thing
about having home and the office in the same building, no traffic. And
one
could work late at night and just go to bed.
Relena walked down the hallway and turned a right at the joining
way. The door she seeked was on her right, and five
down. She laid her
hand on the knob, took a deep breath, then turned it.
When the door opened to the room, Relena saw everyone sitting in
the living area. 'Here we go,' she thought as she closed the door and walked
to the bar. She knew of the assorted drinks behind the counter, and she
also knew what was coming. This put together made her want to have a drink
before sitting down.
Heero stood and Relena saw his reflections in the mirror. Knowing
what he would say, and what he would do, she spoke without turning around.
"Please Heero, I need this before we sit."
"Relena, just tell us what the man told you," he said. Relena picked
up the furstration in his voice.
She sighed. 'Might as well give in,' she thought. "Well, Sean was
the owner and founder of Dantic Alliance. He seemed
to have..."
"Nani?" Zechs said as he stood with Duo and Quatre in surprise.
Relena was forced to turn around and see them. "Dantic
Alliance was the
first colony organization that offered their help. Why betray the coloines
like that?" Zechs finished.
Relena was silent. 'Why does everyone think I know what and why
Sean did what he did?' she thought. Taking a deep breath, she explained
everything. "From what I know, Sean had served in the final battle at the
end of the war. And Mr. Sanson said, well that he had
been watching me
and the
on the job of rebuilding the colonies so that Sean could get his hands on
me. But there's still something I'm confused about," she said finally.
Heero looked at her and she had to walk to the window. "Relena,"
his voice came from across the room. "What is it?"
"There's someone else behind this. Sean couldn't have done this
by himself. There were certain things that he would never be able to get
into or a hold of."
"That leads you to believe that there is someone out there who
can still hurt you?" Heero asked.
"Hai. But it's more
than that now. I have a strange feeling. I
can't place it," she said.
"Don't worry about it Relena," Zechs said
as he stepped over to her.
"We're all here and we won't let anyone hurt you. Dinner is ready, let's
go, ne?" he said, taking her arm and leading her
into the dinning room.
They ate in silence, which Relena was glad of. 'Who was behind
Sean?' she thought.
"Relena, aren't you hungry?" Noin asked.
Relena looked up and then
down to see food rearranged but not eaten.
"I'm sorry Noin, I guess I'm not hungry. Please excuse me," she
said as she stood up and left the room.
"I'll go see her," Heero said, exiting the same way Relena had.
He first looked in her room, then the office, and gardens, all of which
was unsuccessful. Then Heero remembered Relena talking about a lake that
was hidden in forest. She said she went there sometimes to think. Figuring
that there was a good chance Relena would be there, and simply not knowing
where to look now, Heero started for the direction of the lake.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena couldn't believe what was going on, as she sat near the
water's edge. "What am I doing?" she whispered to the trees.
The wind picked up and rippled the quiet surface of the water
before Relena heard the footsteps behind her. Turning, she saw a young
woman. Seeming to be her age, who also knew the hardships of war.
But
Relena also saw the thrist for blood. She'd seen that
look long enough
to know it. The ice blue eyes of the woman told her that.
"Nice to see you, Miss Peacecraft," the woman's voice errupted
with sarcasticness.
"Who are you?" Relena asked, standing up to face the woman. She
had fire red hair that flowed about her face. It was cut to shoulder
length, which gave the brief illusion of flame rolling off her shoulders.
"I'm here to end you life," she stated approaching the woman of
sandy blond hair.
"Sean," she whispered.
"Yes, he was easy to manipulate," she smiled.
"Relena step back," Heero's demanding voice sounded from behind
the woman.
"Ahhh, Heero Yuy, the
famous Wing Zero pilot. It's nice to finally
meet you. But I have no interest. Leave," she said as she darted and
grabbed
Relena's arm, twisting it behind her back. She pulled out a knife and grazed
her neck.
She gasped at the coldness of the blade against her neck and shut
her eyes. "Heero, leave us alone," Relena demanded.
"No," he said as he stepped forward.
The woman laughed, "You are stubborn."
"Let her go," he said, still walking.
"Hmmm, I think not. Now if you'll excuse us, we have to talk."
Relena struggled against her hold, but was unable to free herself as they
walked past Heero.
"You won't be able to get far," Heero's icy voice stated behind
them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Where's Relena?" Duo asked as Heero entered the room alon and an
hour later.
"She's gone," he replied. He had been to his room,
everyone could
see that because of the gun in his pants.
"What do you mean?" Duo asked.
"Where's Relena?" Zechs questioned.
"A woman kidnapped her," he said simply. Not even bothering to
elborate.
"Dammit Heero!" Zechs
yelled.
"Come on, we're leaving," he said as he gave an icy stare at them.
"Where are we going?" Wufei asked.
"To the colonies."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The woman had dragged Relena away without even a backglance.
They
had gone southeast of the lake, that meant south of
the mansion. 'What do
you get yourself into Relena?' she thought as the woman approached a car.
"Get in," she said as she shoved her forward and pointed a gun at
her.
As Relena stepped in, she noticed that this was a car like hers.
But what made her notice it was the picture of her and the boys at the
park one day.
She had managed to get a day off and decided to drag Heero and the
others to the park with her. It worked, after a coaxing, and they all
enjoyed the summer breezes that came off the ocean. The memory was fresh
in her mind, like it had happened yesterday. A week later, Heero decided to
leave, then Sean showed up. Things went down hill from
then on.
'Seems they're still going down hill,' she mused. "Where did you
get the picture, ... Uhh,
what do I call you?" she inquired as the driver
started the engine of the BMW and floored the gas, causing Relena to grab
the door and armrest.
"Mareimeia."
"Well, Mareimeia. Why do you want to kill
me?" she asked the girl.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I know I'll get some remarks from ppl saying
this and that about
Mariemeia. But I don't care. It's my fic. I had to
make her older, so sue
me. K? And by the way, if anyone is wondering, she's the same age as
Relena. :P I had to make her older! A seven year old
couldn't drive. And
I change her purposes a little. I know this was short, give me some slack!
Thanks for all the reviews and emails!
