Okay there has been an elapse of maybe a few days. Just the preparation

Chapter 9: Beta Colony 5
By Yuki-hime
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena looked out the shuttle's window. She tried to convince Heero
not to come but he had his mind set and he wouldn't change it. She was sure
that he would be there and she didn't want Heero with her. She was more
scared of what he would do than Heero, even though she knew Heero could
take care of himself.
"Relena?" Heero's voice floated over to her.
She looked at him and smiled, but her eyes gave her away. "You can't
fool me, Relena. What's wrong?" he asked her.
"Nothing. I guess I'm just worried about how it will go," she
sighed and rubbed her temples. She had the worst headache and it wouldn't
go away.
Heero reached over and grasped her hands. "Relena, you can't fool
me. I know you. What happened? What is it that you aren't telling me?"
he asked her. Looking into her eyes, he saw the turmoil again had reclaimed
her.
"Nothing is wrong," she said, freeing her hands from his grasp.
She shook her head in a horizontial motion as if that would get him to
leave her alone. "Heero I..."
She was cut short by the captain's voice. "Miss Peacecraft, we'll
be landing shortly. Please be seated and have your selt belts fastened."
"Relena," Heero's voice came again. He sounded concerned, and Relena
closed her eyes as she played his voice over and over in her mind again.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Noin," Heero said as he stepped into the room.
"Yes, Heero?" she asked not turning from what she was doing.
"I want two extra guards put at Relena's door," he said.
She turned to look at him. "Is there anything wrong? Is she sick?"
she asked worriedly.
"No, but I don't like how the situation looks. There's something
wrong," he said.
"Okay Heero, I'll have two of my best at her door tonight," Noin
said with a sigh. This was going to be a long trip.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena was exhausted by the time the meeting with the colony's
officals were over. She just wanted to have a nice long bath and go to bed.
Instead, she saw two men in front of her door.
"Miss Peacecraft," one said and nodded to her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked them.
"Noin sent us to guard your door tonight," the other man replied.
She looked at them a moment before opening her door and walked
inside. She glanced around before heading to the bathroom, tossing off her
formal clothing. The jacket, blouse, shoes and pants. She sighed as she
worked the soreness in her neck and shoulders out.
It had been a long day. The colonists' representatives had different
views and opinions. They argued from the time she stepped in to the time
she stepped out. 'That was not how I wanted to spend twelve hours,' she
thought.
She walked over to the bath. 'A hot tub,' she thought. 'At least
I'll relax in finary for a while.' She bent to turn the handles. Hot then
cold. She looked around in the bathroom. 'Hmmm, I wonder if they have
bubbles?' she thought. 'Oh, well. A hot bath will do me good even without
the bubbles.'
Pulling off the rest of her clothing, she slipped into the hot
water and sighed. She glanced at the clock,
Relena woke to a voice above her. The air around her was fogging and
she felt the warmth in the water now to be replaced by coldness. She heard
the voice call her name and she reluctantly opened her eyes.
"Relena, get up," Heero said as he pulled a towel from beside him
and stood.
She looked confused and then realized where she was. She looked down
and realized she had nothing on. And then she blushed. She glanced at Heero
quickly and saw him looking at her intently.
"Relena, come on. We have to get you dried," he said as he held the
towel out.
She stood up and walked over to him. Their eyes never left each
other's. She walked into his arms as he wrapped the towel around her. He
felt her shiver at the lack of warmness and he hugged her to him.
He smelled her freshness and felt the water bead off her body.
They stood embraced as Relena relaxed against him, a small pool of water
collected at their feet. Her breathing slowed and he looked down at her.
She had her eyes closed and her mouth slightly parted. "Relena,"
Heero whispered into her ear. He stood there, looking at her and waiting
for a response he knew wouldn't come. He sighed a little and then picked
the sleeping princess up to carry her to the bed.
Somehow he managed to get the covers pulled back with Relena still
in his arms. He laid her on the bed and pulled the wet towel off then
covered her up with the covers and went to get another blanket.
She stirred as he laid the blanket over her. "Heero?" she asked.
"Yes, Relena?" he questioned as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Why?" she asked with tears in her voice.
"Because I couldn't let them hurt you, Relena," he answered. He
leaned over her and kissed her on the lips. She gasped at his movements
and tensed. "Relena," he whispered against her lips. He lifted and
looked
into her eyes.
She closed her eyes and opened them with a smile on her lips.
"I didn't ever think this dream would come true," she said. She put
her
arms around his neck and lifted to her head to kiss him.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena woke to the running of water. She sighed and turned in the
bed to see Heero gone. She looked around and saw that his clothes were
still in the floor. 'He must be in the bathroom,' she thought as she climbed
out of bed, wincing at the pain she felt.
Heero walked out of the bathroom and saw Relena about to tople out
of bed. He ran and wrapped his arms around her to keep her from falling.
"Relena what are you doing?" he asked as he pulled her on the bed
with
him.
"I need to get to the office. We have another meeting today and I
don't want to miss it," she whispered.
Heero could clearly see she was tired, and she should be from what
they did last night. "I've called you in as sick today Relena," he
whispered in her ear and then nibbled on it.
"I can't Heero," she said reluctantenly. She bowed her head and
looked away.
"What's wrong?" he asked as he lifted her eyes to look at him.
"I just have this feeling that I should be there today," she said,
her eyes staring into his.
He looked at her for a moment. "You shouldn't be moving after last
night. I know you're sore," he said.
She smiled. "Yes, I am, but isn't this more important?" she
questioned him.
He nodded. "I guess I want to be selfish," he replied as he kissed
her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena walked into the meeting room and everyone looked up at her.
"I'm sorry I'm late," she said as she sat down and tried not to wince
at
the sudden pain.
"Miss Peacecraft, are you okay? You don't look too well," the
governor of Beta Colony 5 said.
"No, I'm fine. It's just a little cold. Thank you for your concern
Mr. Romefeller," Relena said as she smiled.
"Very well," he said and they proceeded with the discussions on
what they were to do about the new threat.
Before Relena knew, the meeting was over and she was free until
tomorrow morning. She headed out the office and went straight to her
room hoping to find Heero there.
When she stepped inside and didn't find a Heero anywhere in sight,
she sighed in frustration. "Where are you?" she said as she slipped
in
the bed and drifted to sleep thinking about Heero.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heero looked at the man in front of him. He knew that there was no
way for him to get by and there-for he was stuck with trying to out wit or
fight him.
"Heero, why don't you just give up? If you manage to get past me,
I can always go after Relena," he said in a laughing tone.
Heero knew he would do what he said. 'Relena, please forgive me for
leaving you,' he thought as he raised his hands in defeat.
The man laughed at the pilot.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena woke to the clock beeping. It was 6 'o clock and Heero still
hadn't shown up.
She stretched and yawned when she hit a letter. She quickly jumped
out of the bed and searched the room. When she found nothing she catiously
walked to the bed and the awaiting letter.
When she picked it up, she recognized the handwriting immediately
and riped the letter open. She gasped as she read the contents and then
ran out of the room towards Noin's room.
"Noin! Noin!" she yelled as she ran into the room. She was in the
bathroom and walked out with Zechs behind her.
"What is it Relena?" Noin asked a little worried.
"Heero's gone," she whispered as she sat in the middle of the floor
and the tears ran down her face.
"What?" Zechs questioned. "He left?"
"No, no," she said as she shook her head. "He took Heero."
"Who?" Noin and Zechs said in unison.
"My nightmare," she whispered as she pulled herself up and looked
at the couple. The tears running freely and then she turned and walked out
the door.
"Zechs go after her before she does something," Noin said as she
pushed him out the door. "I'll be there as soon as I'm dressed."
Noin didn't give him any time to reply as she shut the door. Even
though they had grow apart, this wasn't how he wanted to get their
relationship back on even ground. Zechs knew Relena loved Heero, and he
also knew Heero loved Relena, but how was he supose to fix this? 'She
said something about Heero being taken. I wonder if this is what she was
afraid of,' he thought as he approached her door.
He put his ear to it to see if he could hear her. It sounded like
she was throwing things around. "Relena," he said as he opened the
door
and revealed a woman over a suit case with clothes everywhere.
"What are you doing?" he asked. He had stepped into the room and
saw what it really looked like. The bed was unmade, the covers everywhere,
with the suit case on it and clothes both in and out of it. There were
clothes also on the floor and the drawers half open with clothes hanging
out. It looked like a disaster and Relena looked worse.
"I'm packing. What's it look like?" she said in a sarcastic tone.
"Where's the letter?" he asked, ignoring her comment.
"I have it," she said as she resumed her previous task.
"Let me see it," he command. He was losing his temper with her.
"No," Relena stated as she shut the suit case and looked up.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"To take care of this problem. Excuse me," she said as she stepped
past him.
"You aren't leaving by yourself," he said as he stepped into her
path.
"I'm an adult now Milliardo. Just like you. And I can take care
of myself," she said as she stared at him.
"Relena," he said as he looked at her. 'You've changed so much,'
he thought as he stepped out of the way and let her pass. He knew that he
would never be able to stop her from going. She would find a way and with
Heero being the one missing, she would definitely go.
Noin passed Relena on her way out of the bedroom. "Zechs, where's
Relena going?" she questioned him.
"I don't know," he said as he looked at her retreating figure.
"What happened?" she asked. He looked upset and Relena had looked
mad.
"She's an adult and we can't control her actions any longer. She
has an unyielding spirit and I'm glad for that," he said as he walked
away.
"Where is she going?" Noin asked him again.
He turned to look at her. "I don't know. She wouldn't let me read
the letter."
Noin looked at him as he stepped into her room. "What's going on?"
she said to herself.
"I'm afraid that Relena's nightmare has returned," a voice said
from behind her.
She turned to see Frank Romefeller. "What?"
"Her nightmare. I'm sure of it, but not sure of what it is," he
said as he stepped up.
"How do you know that?" Noin asked him. He was in his mid-forties
she guessed.
"From the little time I spent with her, I could tell that something
was wrong. She hid part of herself. Like she was ashamed and frightened,"
he stated.
"Where is she going?" Noin asked him.
"To face her fear," he commented as he looked down at the woman to
his left. "Zechs will want to see you," he said and walked off in the
direction Relena went.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Relena will you be okay?" Frank asked the young woman beside him.
"Yes, I'm going to be fine," she said. She looked around the
command room one last time. Everything shined like it was new and it was,
to and extent. "Will you take care of everyone for me?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Make sure there isn't another war," she stated. 'Space is so
beautiful,' she thought.
"I will. I promise," he said.
"Beta Colony 5 will need you guidance," she commented after a
pause.
"I know. But you are coming back. Don't forget that," he said
suringly.
She looked at him. And smiled.
"Heero won't let you die alone. You know that."
She smiled again. "Yes. I guess that's why I'm going. I know he
wouldn't let me die and I can't let him either." Tears were forming in her
eyes.
"My dear Relena, tell me where you are going," Frank said.
She shook her head. "No. I have to face him on my own, or he'll
haunt me forever."
"Yes, I suppose so," he said as he looked from her to the stars
she loved staring at.
"They're beautiful aren't they?" she whispered to him. "So full
of life and promise."
"Yes. Very beautiful, just like you Relena," he couldn't stand to
watch her go. He knew, as well as everyone else, that she was what kept
wars at bay. He had watched her grow up from a baby to where they were now.
A young woman who had her whole life ahead of her, but was leaving it all
behind to save her love and everyone else from death.
"I'll live on," Relena said as she dropped her head. "Don't let
anyone ever forget what happens when wars start."
"I won't."
"Miss Peacecraft, your ship is ready," a man said to her left.
"Thank you. I'll be right there," she said as she turned to her
right to face Frank. "I know that you will se to everyone and thing for
me. I needn't worry."
He stared at her. "If I had a daughter, I would want you Relena,"
he said as he hugged her. "Don't die on us," he whispered as he let
her go.
"I'll try," she said and then boarded the ship.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Relena looked out the window of the ship. 'I know BC5 will make
it,' she thought. And smiled. The negotiations went weel and it looked like
everyone would live in peace. "I've won," she whispered as the ship
speed
away from the peace colony.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have I left you all on the edge of your seats? ::evil laughter:: Sorry, got
carried away. I know that I haven't gotten as many comments as I would
have liked but I decided to post it anyway. Since school has started back
I've been busy with Geometry homework (is anyone good at that? I need a
tutor), American Studies, Art History II (I love that class and the teacher)
AP Studio Art, and college. It's been crazy around here. Anyways, that's
a run down of my classes this semster. I'll try to have chapter 10 out soon.
And I want to verify something. When Relena gets shot, Frank Romefeller
takes care of the bullet, or rather his doctors do. Just to let everyone
know. It'll come up later but that was in case anyone of you were curious.
