Reunion
Chapter 1
By Yuki-hime ^^

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Miss Peacecraft," a man said. "The shuttle is ready for you."

"Thank you," she replied and stood up. The view was lovely and she
hated to leave it but duty called. Two years passed since the war ended. She
couldn't handle to think about it. She lost a brother she never knew, and
Heero. He showed up now and then, but she only saw him from far away. He
left birthday and other presents, but she always wanted to talk to him.
And she never knew how to contact him.

"I hope you enjoy your flight, Miss Peacecraft," the man said as he
turned and left.

Relena watched him go then boarded the shuttle. She recieved a letter
some days ago that her presence was needed in space.
The new colony that
was being built wanted her there to offically open it, she had of course
agreed. Maybe Heero would be there, though that was only a hope.

"Miss Peacecraft, we'll be heading in space now, please sit down and
buckle her safety belt," the captain's voice came over the intercom.

A few minutes later, Relena saw the beautiful Earth. She loved the
view, it seemed so peacefull, not at all what it was really like. There
were still groups of people that thought passifism wasn't the way and
started battles, but war never broke out. She was amazed at how, after the
war, everyone rallied behind her. It was an overwhelming burden, but she
gladly accepted it.

"Would you like a beverage, Miss Peacecraft," a woman asked.

"Oh, yes, please. I would like a glass of tea, sweet," Relena said
and smiled back at her.

"I'll be right back," she said as she turned to leave.

Relena looked back out the window. Space was beautiful.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Miss Peacecraft, it's a pleasure to have you. Thank you for coming,"
the man said. "I'm the administrator for this colony. My name is Albert
Stand."

"Mr. Stand, it's a pleasure to come. I enjoy commissioning new
colonies the promote peace," Relena replied as she shook the man's hand.
"Tell me, where are you from?" she asked.

"Huh? Why, Miss Peacecraft?" he asked stunned by her question.

"I always make a habit of finding out where people come from. It's
puts a perspective on that person," she answered.

"I'm sorry. I don't understand."

"Well, it helps me to understand your actions," she said searching
for the right words.

"Oh, my apology Miss Peacecraft," he said. "I'm from Colony 5."

"That's out on the rim?" she asked as they stepped into the
conference room.

"Yes, we were never really hit hard by the war. Not like the other
colonies, but we felt responsible because we never joined the liberation."

"Then I congratulate you. You were very lucky. I'm happy that the
war didn't spread everywhere."

"Yes, we felt very fortuante," Mr Stand replied. "Would you like to
see the colony now?"

"Yes. Please lead the way," she said as he took the lead.

Mr. Stand took Relena to the blue prints that were laid out on the
conference room's table. "Here," he pointed, "are where the buildings will
be put and there will be docking and such," he said pointing to another
part of the layout.

"There is going to be alot of room for buildings. You aren't leaving
much for docking," she replied.

"It's our theory, that if we have more living space, then business
won't be a problem. People will be able to make there own supplies here.
Because of that, we made the docks smaller than usual. This is a peace
colony, Miss Peacecraft. We won't have anything but farmers and steel
manufacturers here."

"Steel?" Relena asked as she looked at the man.

"Yes, by manufacturing steel, the colony can sell the products and
make money that goes to other projects, such as better buildings, schools,
you get the idea."

"That sounds like a great idea, Mr. Stand. Who came up with the
idea?" she asked.

"Some of our employees. When we started this project, we wanted
something that was new and different. So we had employees working on
new ideas. They came up with that."

"It definitely works. I think you have a winner, this kind of
system is a good idea. If it succeeds we could work on building colonies
that specialze in specific areas and creat a new trading system."

"That's something I haven't thought of, Miss Peacecraft," he said
pondering the thought. "It might work."

"This could be a test, for now, and if everything works out okay,
then we could start the new colonies. Of course, we would have to give it
sometime," Relena remarked.

"Certainly."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Heero?" a voice came form behind him. "Relena's life has been
threatened."

He turned around to the speaker. "When did you find out?"

"A few minutes ago.
He contacted me and said she had been getting
letters."

"What has she done about them?" Heero asked, he was typing at the
computer in front of him.

"Nothing. She wrote them off like all the others."

"Then why is this different?" he questioned. He had pulled up the
new colony file. He knew Relena would be there.

"There is...certain information in the letters."

"Has she not been opening them?" he asked as he turned to look at the
voice.

"No, they've been keeping them away after she threw the first ones
in the garbage."

"She's careless."

"They want you to protect her."

"Fine."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I want to welcome everyone to the grand opening of New Colony Beta
5," Mr. Stand announced.

There were tv crews and they had the international attention. Relena
was impressed. This was a big thing to the world. She hoped it would
succeed for everyone.

"Now I would like to introduce Miss Relena Peacecraft," he annouced
and applause was heard through out the room.

"I would first like to welcome you all to the opening of this new
colony. It is my hope that this colony will succeed. I plan on supervising
the building with Mr. Stand. He has told me what the purpose of the colony
will be, and if this it succeeds, after two years, there will be more
built like it. I'm here to officially open New Colony Beta 5 for building.
Tomorrow, work crews will begin on the construction of living quarters,
office buildings and schools," Relena said as she took the podum. When she
finished, there was shouts of encouragment, which she had to smile at.

"Thank you, Miss Peacecraft," Mr. Stand whispered to her when she
stepped down.

"Your welcome, I hope this goes well," she said before she shook
hands and left. A shuttle was waiting to take her to the moon for a public
speaking conference.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So, Relena is getting careless," Heero said to himself after the
his
visitor left. He stared at Relena's picture on the screen before him.
He would make sure no harm would come to her.

"Heero, are you going to take the job?" Quatre asked as he stepped
into the room.

"What do you think?" he asked as he got up and left Quatre behind.

"Then you will need our help," Trowa said as he appeared out of the
shadows.

"I think I can handle it by myself," he said.

"Then you don't know?" Quatre asked and looked at the others.

"What?" he questioned as he looked from one pilot to the other.

"Maybe you should explain, Quatre," Trowa said a little nervous now.

Quatre looked a little uncomfortable now. "Well, er, Heero, there's
something we found," he began.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We'll be landing on the moon here soon, Miss Peacecraft," the
captain said over the intercom.

Relena sighed, 'Maybe, Heero will be here. Fat chance, Relena,' she
tought to herself.
She missed him and wished he would just give in to the
circumstances. She was sure he at least felt something for her. She hoped.

The sound of guns firing errupted Relena from her thoughts long
enough to realize that they were in trouble. When she looked out the
window, she saw three heavy mobile suits outside. It looked like they were
attacking the shuttle.

"Miss, please sit down," a voice came from behind Relena.

She realized that she had stood up. "What's going on?!" she asked
the woman.

"Well, they want to board," seh said a little nervous.

"Is the captain going to let them?" she asked worried now. Those
suits were new. She had never seen them before, so this meant only one thing.

"Miss Peacecraft, I don't know," she said.

Relena had forgotten the woman was there until she spoke. She turned
and ran to the back of the shuttle. She always kept a gun with her, though
she hated them, it was for her safety, and Heero insisted. Now, she was glad
she had it. 'They won't take me,' she thought as she checked the gun, six
bullets. Good.

"Miss, what are you doing?" the woman asked.

"I'm defending myself," Relena answered and took a look out the
window again. They were still there, then something caught her eye. It looked
like a Gundam, but Relena wasn't sure until two of the three mobile suits
exploded.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Where is Relena?" the man asked as he entered the shuttle.

"She...she is in the back," a woman stuttered.

He moved towards the back, carefully. He knew Relena, but he wasn't
prepared for her to jump out from behind him with a gun.

"Hold it. Who are you and what do you want?" she said confidently.

He could tell she was determined and was pleased that she had taken
his advice to carry a gun with her. "Come on Relena, we have to go before
more show up," he said as he took a step forward.

"Heero?" she whispered. She had no idea that he would be here. But
the question was, why was he here? "What are you doing here Heero?" she said
not lowering the gun.

"Saving you. If you would listen to those stupid letters you got,"
he started as he caught her off guard and took the gun away.

"So what? You're here to save me? I can do fine on my own," she said
as she walked past him.

Grabbing her arm, he hauled her toward the end of the shuttle.
Opening a closet, he took a suit and placed it in her hands. "Put that on,"
he said as he took her toward the front of the shuttle.

"Why?" she asked as she looked out the door. She knew good and well
what he wanted to do and she didn't feel like doing it.

"We're leaving, put it on or I'll take you out without it," Heero
threatened.

"Fine," she said as she climbed in it.

He took her hand and pulled her out with him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What the hell were you thinking?!" Relena shouted at him when they
were in the cockpit. It was a tight fit and she didn't feel like being this
close to him.

"I have orders," he replied as he reached over her.

"And what were they?" she asked as she felt his arm brush her thigh.

"To protect you."

"
Who hired you, Heero?" she asked as she shifted.

"I'm not saying, they don't want you to know," he said simply.

"Dammit Heero, it's not that simple," she yelled at him.

"Shut up and hang on," he said as he polited the gundam.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the couple exited the gundam, Relena noticed that the others
must be here too. 'Would they know who hired Heero?' she thought as she
landed on the floor. She followed Heero towards a door.

"You can take the suit off now," he said as he removed his.

"What?" she said, brought out of her thinking. "Oh, right."

"The others don't know, so you can forget about asking them," he
said as he walked out the door.

"What are you talking about?" Relena questioned him when she caught
up.

"I saw the wheels turning, they don't know who hired me."

"Where are we anyway?" she asked. "Surely you can answer that."

"At an old small space station off the third moon of Jupiter."

"
But I thought the stations that were Romefeller owned and operated
were destroyer," Relena said as they walked toward the living quarters.

"Officially, but they are a few that still remain."

"Shows how good a job I do," Relena said to herself. "So where are
the others?" she asked.

"Here."

'Well, he never was a big talker,' she thought to herself as they
came into the living quarters.

"Hey Relena," Quatre said as she walked into the room.

"Quatre, it's been a while. So what have you been up to, or is that
a secret too?" she asked sarcasticly.

"No, I was called in. I arrived before Heero left to get you," he
said laughing.

"Relena, how long have you been getting the letters?" Trowa asked
from his seat across from Quatre.

"What? Oh, you must mean the threats. Well, I get one at least a
week. Why? Please don't tell me you all took them for real," she said.

"Well," Quatre began.

"I promote passifism, and there are people that don't want me to
succeed in my mission to bring peace. Even after what my brother did. I'm
not surprised I get letters that say I'm going to die. It comes with the
territory. If I paid attention to every one then I wouldn't be able to do my
job. If this is what it's about then you might as well take me back. I have
work to do," Relena said a little upset by why she was taken away.

"You still don't understand. Damn Relena, didn't you realize that
they tired to kill you," Heero said.

"I've had people try before Heero. You don't have to worry about
me," Relena sai a little more than upset by now.

"That's not an excuse Relena," Heero said as he stared at her.

"Evidentially you don't know everything. I can take care of myself,
but I would have thought you might have heard," she replied.

"What the hell are you talking about?" he said.

"Nothing that would concern you," she said. "Quatre, would you mind
to show me where I'll be staying until I leave?"

"Certainly Relena, come," Quatre said as he smiled and lead Relena
towards a door off to the left.

"Heero, do you know what she is talking about?" Trowa asked as he
stood.

"No, but it might be important. See what you can find, I'm going to
talk to someone," he said as he left through the door he had come.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Quatre, where are the others?" Relena asked as they walked down the
corridor.

"Well, Heero called Duo in from the colonies and Wufei is still on
Earth," he said. "They should be here anytime."

"Do you know who hired Heero?" she asked.

"No, he won't tell anyone. Which is the way he just is," he replied.

"Well, I'm leaving tomorrow," Relena said as Quatre pointed to her
quaters.

"I don't tihnk that is a good idea Relena. Their are people out
there that want you died," he said a little uneasy.

"Quatre have some faith in me. You can no thonestly believe that
in my position, I would not know what to do. It's not like it's the first
time, believe me," she said before entering her room.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Relena woke in a hot sweat. "Shit," she cursed under her breath.
She had had that dream again. She could never out run it no mattered where
she was. Deciding she couldn't sleep, she slipped out of her room and went
down the hall to the living quaters. 'I'm sure that the other door lead
to a kitchen,' she thought. 'I need water.'

When she reached the room, she headed towards the door that she had
not been through. Luckly she was right, it was a small kitchen. She opened
cabinets until she found a cup and poured herself some water. She quickly
drank it and got another glass, walking out into the living quaters.
There was a beautiful view and she went to stand by the window. 'The stars
are so peaceful,' she thought. 'I wish...'

"Relena," she spun when she heard her name and saw Heero standing
in the doorway. "What are you doing up?" he asked her.

"I... I wanted some water," she stammered out. When she realized
that he was looking her up and down, it was then that she remembered all
she had on was a shirt. "well, I'm going back to bed. Good night Heero,"
she said as she walked past him.

He caught her arm as she passed him. "Relena, don't do anything
stupid."
