Once I got the Mattig bumper painted to match the rest of the car, I also picked up some Clear side signals to replace the factory ambers. This was probably one of my favorite mods. The factory amber signals are so big and really stood out when I put the clear lights in the bumper. The next thing I addressed was the suspension.  At C1 I ordered a set of FK 60/40mm lowering springs. At the same time I also replaced my rear struts which were shot! Since my budget was running thin I settled on Monroe SensiTracs.
C1 did all the work for me. They also replaced all my bushings with polyurethane mounts and bushings. The end result, a 2" drop in the front and 1.5" in the rear. I chose this drop because (as most Passat Owners know) the rear usually tends to sag. And lowering springs tend to settle and I didn't want the front of my car shooting up into the sky. The "rake" look looks SWEET!!! To date, the suspension upgrade has been my most satisfying!! Total cost when all was said and done was ~$600 CAD, and I would have paid much more!! My Passat handles like an M3!! I also decided to replace my tires. The Yokohama A520 were great for traction but wear was brutal. Two years and they were down to 10%. And remember I live in Canada so that's 5-6 months a year of winter driving that these tires were off the car replaced by winter tires. After much research, I decided on Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. These are AWESOME bang for your buck tires with wicked wet and dry traction.
I then turned my attention to the interior.  I had thought about getting a cool wheel for awhile but I had two obstacles 1) Couldn't decide which to get 2) They're ALL too expensive.  Both of my issues were solved in one sweet deal. My brother had apparently inherited a Momo Millenium steering wheel from someone who owed him something??? This thing was like brand new!! He already had a Momo Race wheel in his Jetta and wanted to sell the Millenium. In the meantime, I had purchased a new Pioneer CD player for my car and had a Kenwood I was trying to sell. As it turned out, we were both trying to sell things we both wanted! So we traded straight across. I obviously got the better end of the deal :) Thanx Bro!
I also picked up a red leather shift boot and VDO Silver Faced Gauges. These gauges are definately the BEST I've ever seen in terms of quality. They are an EXACT replica of the factory gauges. It is a very clean and factory look upgrade and they look fricken sweet at night!! PS I'm replacing the floormats soon too!
