Report to The Committee by Stewart Gurr (see item 3. in minutes to the meeting held Tuesday 22nd January, 2002 at La Trattoria, Hamilton, Bermuda)

I spoke to Charles Tatem:

- Get the book on sailing rules by Paul Elstrom from Bda Bookstore (Queen St). Also other books like
     sailing for dummies.
- Official sailing rules have an appendix (G) specifically covering RC sailing!
- Get permission from the 'World' class (Usually the manufacturer) to start a Bermuda chapter
- Register the Bermuda chapter (class association) with the BSA (If you want to be official)
- They now use BDA not KB for numbers, but if you do this you should be registered with the BSA.
- Elect the officers of the club, make a logo, drink beer etc...

Charles is an internationally registered race coordinator/official with the RBYC, and runs things like the Omega Gold Cup - wealth of knowledge guru type person. He's also very interested in meeting up with us and pointing us in the right direction... provided we buy drinks and give him a hook - Possibly Saturday if you'd like.

I guess the official sailing thing can be very complicated, so we should make a decision whether we want to be a dead serious competitive club, armchair QB's,  or something in between.
