| Namaste and welcome to Akiko's pashmina page. I have enjoyed visiting my sister in Nepal for the past few years, and also enjoyed wearing pashmina of all different sizes and colors. As some of you have already seen, my sister, who exports pashmina products and other Nepali items, has sent me a great selection of pashminas to share with you this year. Pashminas are made with underbelly hair of Himalayan mountain goat called Capra Hircus, also known as "Chyangra" in local dialect. The Capra Hircus goats thrives in high mountains at elevation 10,000 ft or higher, where the weather can be extremely cold. That's how pashmina scarves can be so warm while being so thin, soft, and light. The 400 vibrant color selections also warms up the cold winter time, especially in the Pacific Northwest where it could be gray and rainy for days, weeks, or even months. I have a bright pink pashmina scarf that I wear all the time, from early fall to spring, but winter timeis when I appreciate it the most, for not only it keeps me warm but also brightens my mood with fun colors. I have about 50 sample scarves and shawls in different colors and styles. I am planning to go visit Japan and Nepal during Christmas, during which time I can bring you back any special orders. If you are interested in taking a look at what I have right now, pleae feel free to contact me. Hope to hear from you! |
