Botsford Inn -- Farmington, Michigan
The Botsford Inn was established in 1836, in Farmington, Oakland County, Michigan, by Orrin Weston. It is believed that he built the Inn to take in guests that rode the stage line that Allen Weston ran from Detroit to Howell. When Orrin lost his sight he was forced to sell the inn and it was bought by Stephen Jennings in 1841. Milton C Botsford (from whom the current name is taken) took over the Inn around 1860. Milton was the brother of Simeon Botsford. Many of Detroit and Oakland County notables were known to frequent the Inn, including Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. The Inn was operational until the late 1990s.
