Our Federation is called F�d�ration Fran�aise de la Couture,
du Pr�t-�-Porter des Couturiers et de Cr�ateurs de Mode. One of the Chambers it federates is called Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Couture is the name of the industry. Haute Couture is a legally protected appellation. Our site www.modeaparis.com will give you more details about the various rules which relate to what we call the "Classification Haute Couture".
In France, we sue the brands which use the appellation without having the right to
do so. There is no question that the use of the Haute Couture appellation
abroad is generally not correct but our rights are not strong enough.
