Morning Mist

In the morning mist down by the enchanted lake, the Fishsim children were spooking each other, by imagining things that could be in the water, indeed the way the coils of mist were rising over the Lake, this could well have been the case. Then they had the idea to build a raft and go fishing on the lake, they were after all the Fishsim children. They worked out that they could have the raft ready for mid- week, and it would be ready for launching on the Saturday.

Saturday came, and they all met up at the lake, loaded down with tackle, and bait, but the best was all the goodies that they had brought in the way of sandwiches soda pop and tit bits. They took their places and started to push the raft further into the lake, quickly scrambling aboard and starting to paddle with swift strong strokes.

It seemed at times as if the raft had a mind of it's own, and that the children were just along for the ride with no control as to their destination. They were halfway across, when all of a sudden they spotted a mysterious Island, they were sure it had just appeared from nowhere, as no sighting of it had been seen earlier, and an Island that size would have been spotted with ease. And the raft was heading straight for it, no matter how they steered or paddled, it just kept going in the same direction..... towards the Island.

The raft beached itself, but what had happened to the beautiful Island that they had spotted, in it's place stood an Island of decay and rotting vegetation, something was dreadfully amiss and the children had landed right in the middle of it all. At first all was eerily silent, gradually they heard a strange haunting sound, as if they were being called out to by a sad whispering voice. They decided to head for this sad cry, and find out the cause of such sorrow, the ground underfoot was a quagmire of filthy rotting vegetation with a smell that was bad to say the least, determined they pressed on.

All of a sudden a warm and inviting glow beckoned to them and in a clearing they came across a beautiful glade, bathed in warm sunshine with flowers so undescribably beautiful, wafting a rich and fragrant perfume drowning out the stench of just awhile ago, the last bastion of beauty on a corrupt Isle. In the heart of the glade stood a very old and very wise Oak tree.

The tree smiled at them and beckoned them over, " I need your assistance young one's it said, for every night the evil flying Gliafids come and destroy my friends the plants and all that was once beautiful" . The Fishsim children asked how they could be of help to stop this wanton destruction of a once beautiful place.

The wise old tree smiled and thanked them, and said " if you can sprinkle your magic Sparkledust all around this clearing, then it will spread outwards and cure the ill that had befallen it". The Fishsim children wasted no time and gladly set about fulfilling the request of the Wise Old Oak Tree.

They watched in amazement at the transformation that was unfolding in front of their eyes, flowers bloomed and bushes blossomed, instead of foul smelling vegetation underfoot sprang rich green grass, soft and springy.

The children would have loved to stay longer, after wishing farewell to the Wise Old Oak Tree, they made their way back to the raft. Here another surprise awaited them, for the raft was full of fresh gleaming silver fish, a bountiful catch indeed. Once again the raft seemed to know where to go, and it was not long before the children were once more back home, with yet another tale of adventure for the telling.....

New Beginnings

After consulting with the "Wise Old Tree" preparations began in earnest. Digger Dimpleseed and his crew began digging the foundations for the new community buildings. Phaba and Deedip, along with their many friends began the building work, and with a little " Mystical " help buildings were soon erected and moved into.

Te-Tyn and YL-Nn decided on one's near to each other which would be handy for their new partnership, Seret chose a bigger building which would also double up as a schoolroom and give her more space for her writing.

Life began anew, and soon settled into a normal rhythm, crops were planted and harvested, goods were made and mines started. It had not gone unnoticed of the regular visits by Anjos to see Seret, and a happy announcement was soon made of their forthcoming marriage, the news was received with much merrymaking and plans were set in motion.

Te-Tyn and YL-Nn began designing and stitching in earnest in readiness for the " Big Day " which arrived in a flash, or so it seemed.

Seret looked radiant in her shimmering gown adorned with flowers and tiny sparkling precious jewels, even Anjos looked quite spectacular, with Roary and Nesproon bedecked with flowers for the day, a sight not to be seen too often, but they had gone along with the idea for the occasion.

The ceremony was held in the glade near to the "Wise Old Tree", his branches swaying and waving in delight to the music and festivities that went on until the early hours of the morning. Slowly, Faeries, Elves, Goblins and Trolls retired ready for the new day that would soon arrive, with Roary and Nesproon curled up on a rocky outcrop nearby, tendrils of curling smoke lazily drifting from tired but happy nostrils..

Expectant news

All of Mystic was in the grips of excitement, Seret and Anjos had just announced the expected arrival of their first offspring, who would be the first Gelflin child to be born. Was this to be the child predicted in the old prophesies ? Gifts started to arrive for the new one, soft outfits made from the finest materials and a crib with designs so intricate and delicate it made you wonder how it all stayed together.

Would this child be the first to be born with a Dragon of it's own, only time would tell, as there was also news of new hatchlings due around about the same time. This news had been delivered by Kithe-Charrdis, who had been fortunate enough to become the new Dragon Keeper, a rather whimsical Gnome with a sense of humour that has your sides splitting and aching with laughter.

He also had rather a fabulous bird that was always perched on his shoulder or very close by, it's hues so resplendant that it dazzled the eyes. So there would be double celebrations soon, the birth of a gelflin, the first of it's kind and the birthing of new Dragons. The merriment and festivities would surely last several day's.....

The Conflict begins

Sloth-Glom had been in a foul mood all night, his Acolytes had been chanting their wicked and evil Spells and Incantations, the plan was to attack on two fronts.

The first attack would be directed at Mist Weaver, the craft that was the lifeline to Mystic Isle and secondly Gnomeland itself, in this way he could divide the forces of the defenders and gain the upper hand, or so he hoped. Gliafid leaders were given their orders, knowing failure this time around would mean certain doom from their exalted Leader, best to go down fighting than return to his wrath.

Rumour had reached him that his arch enemy Kett-Rocc and his Silver Dragon Harl-Dav had been sighted not too many miles away, his eyes gleamed red with hatred at this news, this time around he vowed to rid himself of this troublesome foe once and for all.

Remove Kett-Rocc and Harl-Dav and his plans to stop the Prophecy reached a stage nearer in his favour. The battle plans began...

Battle for the Mist Weaver and Mystic Lake.

They came in their droves, driven on by the whips and curses of the overseers. The battle raged with neither side giving quarter, talons slashing and wings beating in a rhythmic crescendo, Captain Allatsea and his crew were bravely defending the ship, with Digger and his crew fighting on the quayside.

Anjos and Nesproon, Roary and Grin Greenhat seemed to be flying hither and thither giving assistance wherever it was needed, all of a sudden a roar so loud that is shook the very heart and souls of all, sounded close by. A Great Silver Dragon swooped down, razing the Gliafids with it's molten fire, striking terror into the hearts of all those around.

This magnificent Dragon and his Dragonrider, eyes blazing molten red with battle lust was a fearsome sight to behold as they swept relentlessly on the terror stricken Gliafids showing no mercy. They hunted them down until not a remaining Gliafid was to be seen. The Battle for Mist Weaver and Mystic was at an end.

With amazing agility Dragon and Dragonrider landed nearby. The black leather clad Dragonrider alighted and approached the others, " my name is Kett-Rocc and this is my Dragon Harl-Dav, and we have come to slay Sloth-Glom". Turning to Anjos and Grin he asked them to join them in his quest to free the lands of this evil tyrant, to which they eagerly agreed.

Taking their leave from Captain Allatsea and the others, they soared off into the clouds to return to Faerie Glen and the defence of the Portal...
