CONSTITUTION
                                              United Methodist Men
                               XXXXXX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Article I  Name    

Section 1   The name of the organization shall be the United Methodist Men of Xxxxxx UMC,  
hereinafter referred to as the UMM. 

Article II Purpose

Section 1 To foster the teachings of Jesus Christ through study, fellowship, and work.

Section 2 To study and become familiar with the United Methodist Church, its organization
  and its doctrines.

Section 3  To seek daily Christ's way of life; to bear witness to his way in business and 
  social conduct; and to actively  engage in Christian service.

Section 4 To cooperate with the Bishop of the Annual Conference, the District Super- 
  intendent and the Pastor in promoting the program of the church.

Section 5 To cooperate with the other units of the United Methodist Men in the promotion 
  of District, Conference and church-wide projects . 
 
Article III Membership

Section 1 Members shall be men of good faith who have an abiding and sincere concern for
  all mankind, and who will subscribe to and support the purpose of the UMM.


Article IV Officers and Executive Committee

Section 1 The UMM shall be administered by an Executive Committee comprising the Pastor, 
  President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, Secretary, Treasurer and Program 
  Chairman.

Section 2 The Officers shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Program
  Chairman, each elected for a term of one year.

Section 3 The election of officers  for the following year will be held at the November meeting.  
  The elected officers shall be installed during the last part of the December meeting, and  they will
  assume  their offices at the beginning of the next meeting, the January meeting of the    next year.

Section 4  Vacancy occurring in any office between elections shall be filled by a majority vote of 
  the Executive Committee for the unexpired term of such office.

Section  5 The executive Committee may determine the rules of its proceedings.

Section 6 The elective Officers of the UMM shall be members of this local church.

Article V Funds

Section 1 The UMM shall collect and administer such funds as may be necessary for the accom-
  plishment of its purpose, and may receive and administer gifts and bequests made for  the object
  of furthering such purposes.

Section 2 The Executive Committee may levy dues required for the operation of the UMM.  The 
  dues shall be approved by 2/3 of the members present at the meeting at which the 
  matter is considered.

Section 3 The Executive Committee may levy special assessments for special purposes when ap- 
  proved by 2/3 of the members present at the meeting at which the matter is considered.

Section 4 In the event of the dissolution of the UMM, all existing funds of the UMM shall be 
  donated to the Xxxxxx United Methodist Church.

Article VI Meetings

Section 1 Annual Meeting.  The meeting held during the month of December shall be designated 
  as the Annual Meeting during which the installation of the officers shall take place.  The 
  installer of officers shall be the Pastor of the local Church or any appropriate  invited guest.
  The Annual Meeting may be designated as the "Family Meeting," where  the entire family and
  friends of the members shall be invited to attend.

Section 2 Regular meetings.  The dates and times of the regular meetings of the UMM shall be 
  selected by the Executive Committee.

Section 3 Other meetings of the UMM may be called by the President with the approval of the 
  Executive Committee.
