My great great great grandfather John Long (b.1808) came to Paducah, Ky with his two brothers about 1823 or 24. He was 16 years old at the time. James and Sam Long, the brothers, moved on to greener pastures and went west to California and never came back. This Long information is kindly provided by Francis LONG Dodson, a researcher in Cunningham, Kentucky and another distant relative - Jimmy C. Long, Rt#1, Box 286, Bardwell, Ky 42023.
