9th June - The First Big Change

The week returning from Eurotour was pretty cruisy, it was mainly devoted to sleep. I just wanted to chill and take it easy. I went to school which was ok. The german took a hard slug after the Eurotour, speaking only english for a few weeks, but getting back into it was good fun, and i had a great time seeing all the friends and people in Graz that i had missed. It was actually a really good feeling coming back, because it felt like i was actually returning home, and that was a nice feeling.

That feeling was not to last too long, because it was only a week after returning from eurotour that i moved families.

The next family that i was in was called the Greimers. They lived also in Geidorf (our area) and were only a couple of hundred metres away from my now old house which was a comforting feeling when i was thrown into a new environment.

I spent about a week packing up my stuff and getting ready to leave. It was all very strange, it felt as though i had just moved in, and here i was packing up my stuff, ready to dash, that was a little bit wierd i think. But nonetheless, i headed off. It was a little sad saying goodbye to the Uranitsches, but i was headed off on a new path, even if for only 4 months.

....

I arrived at the Greimers and was taken downstairs to set down my stuff. Right from the word go i realised i was seriously lucky. Not only had i been blessed with one awesome family to start off with, and now i had one more great family. They were so helpful in settling me into a new family, and couldnt have been nicer in doing so. As i said, and couldnt say it enough, i was truely blessed here.

The family consists of Michaela, Hannes, and their two kids, Lucas, 11 and Johannes, 6. They live in the area on a hill just above the city, still only about a 5 minute drive to the centre. The house is a modernish open house, very similar to my house in Sydney, which really made me feel at home, it has a huge yard, and is on a private driveway, meaning it is incredibly quiet here. I was told that i had the whole bottom level to myself. The laundry is down there, but i have the bathroom, writing room and everything else to myself. As i said, i am extremely lucky.

Just as i was getting settled in and unpacking my stuff, Johannes bundled down the stairs and said to me, incredibly hurriedly: 'Schnell, komm! Fuball speilen!', i thought there was a footbal game on the tele, but he lead me outside and they had the goal set up, Lucas was already in goals with the gloves on. It was on!

But i think that summed up my first few days at the Greimers, i just basically chilled out and played a lot of games with the kids, they are awesome, but there is much more to come about them!
