| 28th August - Living it up! - part iv The end of the week was spent basically chillin out and soaking up all the rays we could. To my surprise the sun is really not as potent as at home, must have something to do with that huge hole in the ozone layer we have. But it was nice, because it meant that i didnt burn as easily as i normally did. One stop we made though, i must mention. We popped into a little cove that was quite popular, as could be seen from all the boats that were parked there. The water at this spot was particularly deep which meant that it was a little bit colder. But it wasnt the water that facinated me. When you looked behind the boat there was a wall of bush, extending up a cliff. The cliff ran up about 10 m and then there was more bush on top. What was so interesting about this point was the uncanny resemblance between this and the Australian bush. It wasnt even just the view, it was the sounds as well, they were all sounds that i thought you could only get at home. The rocks were that stark red you only get at home and the vegetation, the eucalypts! They were all directly taken out of a painting from home. It was awesome. I must have sat for at least half and hour and just enjoyed the view out onto this little patch of bush. It blew me away. I loved it. Other than that there was some pretty stunning scenery also. The Turkish coast is pretty bare, but all the same, it is wonderful to take in. And every day, seeing a new part and everything, i loved it. We arrived back at Bodrum at the end of the week and i was pleased that we were back in port, even though we had had a fantastic time on the boat. It was great to have a look through the market and check everything out that night. I went out with the crew that night, and we definately stayed out too long. We all got back at 3, which was the time the car picked us up. I had been counting on a little sleep, but didnt really get any on the trip to the airport. Which then meant that i probably have not felt sicker in my life getting to the airport and on to the flight. It was not good! Haha, but i snuck in a little kip, and after that i was feeling heaps better. We arrived in Graz that afternoon and it was nice to be back in my bed. It was really funny, i kept swaying as though i was on the boat, maybe im just wierd! Paz |
