27th July - Back for the Holidays

The actual school holidays had begun on the 9th. Some would call the fact that i arrived back on the 10th from the trip with my parents, 'good timing', i call it umm, lucky, or whatever. Haha, anyway! That meant that i was in Graz now for the first time to really enjoy the school holidays in my town. I was really looking forward to it. Summer had seriously arrived, the days were getting hotter and spending time outdoors became more and more attractive.

I spent the week between coming back from Italy and Switzerland just doing holiday things. We went and played minigolf, did puzzles, played football, boardgames and cards. We went into town a lot and looked around it was great fun.

A few days after we got back the Tour de France wound up, with Lance leading the boys through the streets of Paris. Only two days after that, they held a street race through Graz. I had heard heaps about it, but didnt really think it would be anything big. Hannes, Johannes and I went along to have a poke. It was awesome! I have never seen anything so exciting or addictive. I had really got into the Tour de France and knew a lot about the riders and all, and so the fact that people like Jan Ullrich, Andreas Klden and Totschling were in Graz made it that much more exciting. It was so cool to see them fly through the streets. It was a small course of less than a kilometre and they did laps for about an hour. We were on one of the straights and they absolutely flew by us doing about 55-60 km/h. That was cool. It was so cool to see in my home town as well. It made me think though, Graz is not a big place, and the amount of stuff they put on is incredible. But all the same, this was a fabulous day, and we had so much fun.

The days following were spent again doing the holiday things. I caught up with some friends from school which was good fun, even though most of them were away, but it was nice to see a few. The week was really relaxing and nice, its always good when you have time to do all the things you never get time to. And with the weather it makes everything that little bit more enjoyable. Im loving the holidays!
