25th May - Still Recovering

The night we went out in Barcelona was simply crazy! Think of 50 or so exchange students let loose on a place like that! Haha.

We caught a train (after waiting for what seemed like an eternity!) to the central place to go out. That said, we found out that there are actually 7 central places to go out! But it was good all the same. Before hitting the night we went and saw a fountain that Barcelona is famous for. It was huge! Every 15 minutes it did a show where it 'danced' to music, it was actually pretty cool, the effects of the lighting and the water and all that were pretty awesome. But after our cultural event we decided to get into some non-cultural activities. We hit the pubs and clubs, and danced and drank, it was a great night. Justin and i went in search for more (slash cheaper) beers and ran into an Aussie who lives in Sydney, and get this, in the same street as one of my good mates, he was a mate of my brothers, its wierd those coincidences isnt it?

But the night in Barcelona had to come to a close. Just a mention of a couple of classic memories (which probably should get mentioned!). Justin, Andrew and I started the night by doing 'The Tour' - basically we went to the supermarket buying beers, and we found an array of over 30 beers! Heaven some might say, but hell to choose which one, so we did the diplomatic thing and chose a wide selection (i wont embellish HOW wide), line them up in our room and proceeded to make our way down the line of beers, each time putting on a piece of clothing. Great fun! Annie from Canada fell into the harbour, and upon reaching the dock 4 guys tried to pickpocket her, haha, Nico (Brazil) and Victoria (the States) both got lost on our way home at 6 in the morning, we found them, a couple of hours later! And finally James from Australia almost getting in a big scrap because a guy tried to pickpocket him. As you can probably see, most of the evening revolved around trying to avoid getting pickpocketed. All good fun though!

We arrived at about 6 and the bus left at 7:30, so a quick hotel lobby sleep and we were off. We passed through Anodorra, I was really excited about going here. Bad move. Andorra is comparable to an airport, in that, it is really one long street with duty free shops. And i mean thats it! Enough said.

We went from there to Bordeux. I had never been here either and i was looking forward to it. When we got there i couldnt believe it. Bordeux has the charm and quaint aora of a small village but the spectacle and grandeur of a capital. It is a beautiful town. All the streets are perfectly laid out, and in glorius white sandstone, a sight to be seen! I would love to see an overhead shot of Bordeux, it is set out like a chessboard. But for lunch here Andrew, Justin and I went thirds in a proper French feast. We got Baugette, cheeses, ham, tuna and all the rest. Andrew, being the loyal Canadian, bought a 6 pack of Canada dry (dont worry, its only ginger ale!), and we sat by the bus and ate our feast. We passed a footy in the sqaure in Bordeux, and we had so much food the we had to have  our second roll on the bus. That was easily the best (and cheapest!) lunch we had! Bordeux was awesome!
