22nd May - Little Bit of Home

The night of the 21st we all went out and had a great time, but i checked my phone at one stage and i had a message from dad. "Where are you? We are in Marseilles, and would love to see you if we could, speak soon, love Dad". Out of chance, we were actually near Nice that night and they were about 2 hours away and we were both heading in opposite directions, towards the same point tommorrow. I called them the next morning and it was set to meet in Avignon.

They had told me that the car they had bought was a 307, and so i waited for a couple of hours on the Pont D`Avignon (you know the one, sur le pont davignon.....) looking for this little car. To no luck. Almost beside myself a this point, my phone rang. "Where are you? We will meet you in the big square". I bolted through the gorgeous gardens and past an amazing church, barely noticing they were there! The exchange students were all gathered for a big group photo and i ran straight past. I almost flipped when i saw them in the Piazza about 100m away. I ran and ran, and then threw mum up in my arms, it was so good to see her. Gave dad a big hug and we all went and sat down for a coffee. I was so lucky to have seen them. They looked immediately like they had had an awesome trip. It was so good to just talk to them, be around them, and feel like i was home. Not that i am homesick or anything, but it was just great to feel being around my family again, i think ive missed that the most.

We talked about both our trips and exchanged stories of various incidents and people we had met. It was awesome, i couldnt have been more happy. They walked back to the bus with us and i introduced them to Doris and Walter, two of the people who have been my surrogate parents this year! It was nice that they could meet them, and i tried to introduce them to as many of the exchange students as i could. It was such a great day, i loved it!

From there we really didnt get to see that much.

We got back in the bus after i said a serious goodbye to my parents,  but it was ok, i mean i will see them again in a month. And bussing was about all we did. We were heading to barcelona that night and i was a bit of a drive. But i was looking forward to being in Spain, id heard so many different things about it, it woud be good to see it for myself.
