| 19th May - It really leans! part ii Not many things annoy me.....ok a lot of things annoy me, but one thing in particular is people trying to sell me things i really dont want. Around all the tourist spots there are thousand of people trying to sell you things, i mean, we hadnt even go off the bus and already there were people trying to sell us stuff. I just didnt like it at all, and needed every ounce of patience to deal with them. But i suppose its just one of the points of travelling. But back to Pisa. Right in the centre of town is the cathedral and the accompanying Baptisma and Tower. It is built into a huge square within the old town walls. Its really an impressive place. Everything is laid out perfectly and the beautiful green grass surrounds all the buildings. But the focus of everything is the leaning Tower at the end of the Cathedral. Its just as you imagine it. It really leans! haha. But its quite an impressive tower, even if it didnt lean! But the fact that it does is pretty cool. Its funny that it is such a celebrated piece of architecture, when it was a stuff up. Haha, you have to laugh about that! I think thats one irony that isnt pointed out enough! But it is a cool building, so we hung around to see it a little. But we were given so long to look at it. We inquired about going up it, but it would end up costing about 24, we politely declined, and went and sat on the grass, which turned out to be a cool afternoon, catching some sun, and unwinding on the holiest and best kept grass in the world! But i was so glad i saw Pisa, i didnt even know we were going there, but it was cool to see, i loved it! Paz |
