| 11th July - Some Old Faces - part ii The show was called We Will Rock You. It was simply awesome. I almost hate musicals, but this was simply fantastic. It is written by Ben Elton, and all the music is of course from Queen. Quite simply, it rocked! It was fantastic. We danced and sang till we were horse. It was such a great night. I organised to meet the Hogans the next morning at their hotel, while they were packing, Brad, Dom and I went to the big markets in Notting Hill. They are simply incredible, it is the most complete and awesome market i have ever seen. Even though it is only along one street that is a few k's long, we got lost over and over again, it was awesome. We tottered around for a few hours and then went back to the family to say goodbye and wish them a safe journey. That day we didnt really get up to much. We looked around at some various things we hadnt done yet, and basically spent heaps of time talking and having a good time together. I went off by myself to the British Museum of Natural History. It was the coolest thing i have ever seen. I saw the rosetta stone and countless treasures. The collection of art and sculpture also is breaktaking. There is simply everything there. I loved getting lost there and discovering something new. I saw a really fantastic presentation on mummies, which was so interesting. I loved it. That night we had a bonaza planned. Not only were these boys in town, starting their Contiki tour, but there were a whole heap of other aussie there from school. We were meeting at the Contiki Hotel that night. I was so surprised when i found that it was a serious pile of Aussie boys. There was Pat Sheehan, Michael Roche, Tom Van Beek, Philly Saundos, Simon Jones, Pats Sisters, Ed Tighe, Tom Manion, and Hugh Kennedy, as well as us. None of them knew i was coming so it was the best surprise. We celebrated for hours on end, until we were kicked out. We met some really nice American girls that were on the tour with Dom and Brad. It was one of the best nights out. We had such an awesome time. Then it was time to go home. This is one London experience i highly recommend. At 4 i hopped on the London night bus. It was smokier in the bus than in the club. I have never met a dodgier array of drug dealers, ravers, rastas, drunks, and cool people in my life. I seriously had so much fun on the bus, it was something i would definately do it again. It is the coolest thing i did in London. Somehow i made it off at my stop, not making a comment on my state at that point, but i trudged into bed and then got up feeling a little uneasy the next morning, heading back home. It took me about an hour to find the bus to Stanstead airport. But i finally got it, and almost missed my plane, but got there in the end. It was such a great trip, and to finish it with the boys was even better. I was heading back for more travels though, a country i was really looking forward to - Switzerland. Paz |
