    Pascal Herington's Rotary Trip
11th August - A Nice Couple of Days

I left of the train on the 5th for Krnten. Krnten, or Corinthia in english is the neighbouring state to Steiermark, or Styria. It is like the difference between Queensland and NSW. Nonetheless, i headed into enemy territory, haha, and looked forward to a good few days with the boys and Grandma.

I was greeted at the station by the boys and Grandma, Johannes jumped up and down when he saw me through the window on the train, 'i saw him, i saw him', he yelled at the top of his lungs in the middle of the train station. We bundled into the car and drove about 20 minutes the the campground, just outside Klagenfurt, the capital city of Krnten. It was good to see the boys again, and on the way to the campground all i heard was the when we got there we were having Schnitzel, which was surely going to be good, i was excited too!

We spent the next few days doing this and that. I had taken a few balls and games and things from home, which was good because we could play and things at the campground. It was on a lake, which meant that every day, several times during the day, we would go swimming, the water was surprisingly warm. On one occasion Johannes and i borrowed a surf ski from the neighbouring caravan (when i say borrowed, Johannes' idea of borrowing involves taking it, and then telling the person later on that you took it, hes not sure why he got a stern look from the neighbour...) and paddled to the other side of the lake which was good fun, even though i got in trouble many times along the way for not paddling hard enough. We also played Rodeo in the shallow water. This meant that Johannes would stand up on the board and i would move it side to side and we would count the seconds he could stay on, he would try to set a new record every day, i would make it easier, so that he could set a new record, and i would get an ear blasting for doing so. But we had heaps of fun, Lucas rarely came in the water, but we played gameboy and watched DVDs together. We also played heaps of basketball, soccer, and board games, it was all good fun.

On the 8th, Hannes and Michi came to pick us all up, and it was nice to see them once more, even if it did mean leaving the lovely Omi to herself for a few days. I got along really well with Grandma, we talked all the time about all sorts of things, and she would cook all the time, and then we would go swimming, we got along really well, once more, like when i lived with the Uranitsches, i think it was almost making up for never having had a grandmother, it was nice to have one now, even if it was only for a short amount of time.
