After the glorified demise of Brett, Glen And Craig, Simon began working with former Brett, Glen And Craig frontman Richie, to turn his solo project into an active band. After several months the idea again relapsed due to other commitments carried by both Simon and Richie.
The idea was again brought to light by Simon's idea of performing at another Battle Of The Bands with a grindcore outfit. This prompted Simon to contact various musicians including from Brett, Glen And Craig and current Single*Second drummer, Ondie, his brother Riccardo, and long-time Brett, Glen And Craig roadie, Alistair. After getting in touch with these four people Simon managed to assemple a four piece band with himself on vocals, as well as accompanying Alistair with guitar duties, Riccardo on bass, and Ondie on drums. However the idea to perform at the upcoming Battle Of The Bands was scrapped due to lack of time.
Soon afterwards Richie showed a regained interest in the project and elected himself frontman while intoxicated. Simon, however, remembered the proposal and Richie remains the current frontman, hopefully for a long time.
A close friend of the bands, Gaelan, founder and guitarist of black/death metal band Ethereal, showed an interest in the project and asked for an audition. Simon, whose own intoxication was evident at this time, invited Gaelan to join the band without the intended audition. There were no objections and with Gaelan came the brutal edge that has influenced many final productions of Rob Teahle And The Party Crew Mix songs.
As the Party Crew Mix builds up to becoming an ever more active project, Ondie showed weaning interest in the project and decided to focus solely on Single*Second, who accomodate better with Ondie's personal musical influences and preferences. However he is now interested in pursuing a permanent position in TPCM and we welcome his interest, him being quite the drummer of all time.
As of the time of writing the current permanent line-up of Rob Teahle And The Party Crew Mix includes Richie on vocals, Ondie on percussion, Gaelan on guitar and some vocals, Alistair on guitar, and Simon on guitar and some vocals, who has declared himself dictator of the band and a member who will remain with the name Rob Teahle And The Party Crew Mix until its final demise.
To create a unique sound we try to emphasize the beauty in music whether it be expressed through a high gain distortion pedal and a Jackson guitar designed especially for death metal, or a frustrated young musician trying to comprehend J.S. Bach's Cello suites. Whatever creates the sound can create beautiful sound and by broadening musical horizens we hope to uncover the beauty in all music, even grindcore. Although many listeners and lovers of grind will describe the genre as beautiful music, the majority of everyday people do not. By accepting all music as being something to be celebrated styles and influences can be succesfully combined to create and inspire new sounds.
Through the Party Crew Mix's heavily distorted sound and often confronting and gruesome lyrics, try to visualize how the imagination worked to create the music and in turn appreciate the beauty of artistic creation.
We are creating what we want to create and expressing what we want to express. There should be no boundaries in this regard.
