All in the Family
by SombodyotherthanmeThe day Molly B. Taylor turned 18, her mother Jennifer realized she couldn't hide the truth anymore. She had to tell her daughter the truth, no matter how much it hurt.
"Molly," she said to her daughter that she loved very much, "I have something to tell you."
"What is it, Mom?" she said as she was painting her toenails because teenagers paint their toenails a lot.
"Well, Molly dear you were adopted. I didn't want to tell you because I wanted you to have a normal life and adopted people aren't normal. I'm sorry I hid the painful truth from you, can you ever forgive me?"
"I HATE YOU!!!!" the teenager screamed, storming out of the house like a tornado. She knocked over the bottle of nail polish.
"Oh no, the rug." Jennifer had to clean it up.

The next day Molly went down to the Records Building and looked for the file on her adoption. She found the phone number and called the adoption agency.
"Hello, this is Babies for Money Adoptions, how may I help you?" Sheila answered the phone. Sheila had worked at the adoption agency a long time and she loved helping cute little babies find good homes. They were so adorable.
"Hello, my name is Molly Taylor and I am 18 years old. I was adopted and I just found out and I want to find my birth parents." The red-headed teenager was desperate.
"Sure Molly, no problem," the adoption agency receptionist replied helpfully. "Let me go look for the file here. These things only take a few seconds."
The few seconds seemed like a few years to Molly as she waited anxiously to hear the shocking truth about her origins. After those few seconds, Sheila came back on the line and gave Molly the name and address of her birthmother. Molly's heart was pounding a million miles an hour as she wrote it down. She was going to go visit her real mom after all these years!
Sheila hung up the phone feeling good about helping that wonderful young woman find out the truth. "Job well done," she told herself.

Molly went to see her birth mother. She was a beautiful woman.
"Well, Molly, here's what happened," the woman who was her mother said in her gentle musical voice while offering the girl tea and cookies. "While I was in college, there was a guy that I fell in love with, and he loved me, too, only he was gay. We had a one night stand, but I had had half a beer already so I forgot to use protection. I got pregnant but never told him, it broke my heart because I know he would have married me if he'd known but I just couldn't do that to him. I loved him too much. So I gave you up."
"What was his name?" The flame-haired young adult asked, in awe of this amazing woman who was her mother.
"Brian Kinney."
Molly dropped her cookie in shock and it fell into her teacup with a splash.

Brian opened the door and was surprised to see them. "Amanda Susanna Belinda Horgendorfer!" He said in shock. He had not seen this beautiful woman who had broken his heart since college.
Justin got up from the couch where he had been lying down while Brian fed him grapes. It was their eight year and four month anniversary, and they had been celebrating romantically. "Molly, what are you doing here?" the artist asked.
"Justin, this is my birthmother. I was adopted and Mom hid it from me but she told me today because I'm 18 and had a right to know."
"Yes," Amanda said, tossing her long blood-red shiny hair over her shoulder, "It's true Brian. I got pregnant when we slept together and I hid it from you. I gave up the baby for adoption. Now here she is, 18 years later. Molly is your daughter, I gave her the middle name Brianna in honor of you. Please love her as I was never able to."
Justin was so surprised he dropped the bowl of grapes.
"But there's more," the astoundingly beautiful generous woman said. "Molly, you have a brother. Eight years ago I got pregnant again, and gave him up for adoption too."
"Where is he? Can I meet him?" Molly was eager to meet all her family, she didn't really consider the family that had raised her as her family because they loved Justin more than her.
"I gave him up for adoption to a lesbian woman named Lindsay Peterson. I heard she pretended to give birth to him and then named him Gus."
