An opening day 2-1 defeat to Colombia, the South American midgets, rocked Partizan and a glitch has appeared in their title chances!! Apparently the comments from the Gaffer that Partizan "will remain unbeaten all season" gave the opposition a big incentive and has now given Partizan the label of 'The Wimbledon & District League's Chelsea'!!
Partizan picked up their first win of the season with a resounding 4-1 win over the Putney Pacers! The opener came in controversial style with the Pacers claiming Joel controlled the ball with his arm before rifling it into the top corner. More spectacular goals followed from Danny, Mike...........and amazing Nick the Pole from 25 yards!!
Last night amazingly 21 squad players turned out for Partizan's training on the Common! It just shows what a strong squad Dulake has at his disposal and gives them great confidence going into the League opener vs Colombia on Saturday! A two-touch 10-a-side match took place with Dulake keeping a close eye over the players while seemingly spending hours on his mobile to a mysterious girl!
News just come in on transfer deadline day and it looks like Dulake is not going to get anyone in last minute! There has been an announcement of a 2nd Pre-Season Friendly for Sunday 7th September at Raynes Park, kick off 12.30pm vs Putney Pacers though! No news of which league this team is from, but it will appear here when known.
The arranged friendly against London Study Centre tested Partizan's new squad for the coming season it was a very hard fought match with Partizan having much of the possession only to concede two late scappy goals to bring about an early season blow for the Gaffer!
The Gaffer Dulake has manged to arrange a Pre-Season Friendly vs last years Divison One winners London Study Centre for this Saturday 30th August at Raynes Park, kick off 4pm. This will give the new look Partizan chance to experiment with the new signings and see how they compare to last years winners!
The first five rounds of matches have been announced for the start of the new season with Partizan sitting out the first round of matches on the 6th Sept'03 and will start their campaign away to new boys Colombia on 13th Sept'03, venue to be announced!
With Partizan finishing strongly last season and ending up in 3rd place, along with the fact that the top two teams got promoted to the Premier, Partizan have been installed as favourites for the Divison One title!! Also with the mew signings looking to imrpove Partizans squad, things are looking up for Dulake and the boys!!
The Divison One schedule has been announced and with London Study Centre & Brompton Rovers being promoted to the Premier, five new teams have joined the League's four remaining teams. These include Brentside Reserves, Colombia, Cosmos United, PWCA & Wandle.
With the new season rapidly approaching Dulake has been busy involved in the transfer market and so far has snapped up no less than 10 new players for this coming season. With the rumours flying about amongst the other Wimbledon & District teams, Partizan have been branded the 'Chelsea' of the league for the amount of newcomers to the squad. The move for all these players seems to have steamed from the backing of PSS Enterprises, Partizans new sponsors and kit supplier (aka Abramovich)!!
