MATCH REPORTS
13th May 2003 PARTINGTON PATHETIC 2 STRETFORD REJECTS 6
a bit of an anti climax after the last 2 performances - However the team gave it's all against a team contraversially  full of ringers - The Dutchman was making his debut for Pathetic - Chris T was suffering from Jet Lag but was man of the match at the back and Trevor although still seriously injured (career threatening some would say) struggling in nets.
Pathetic went 4 down after 25 minutes and were being taken apart but then rallied for a short period. Pete pulled off 3 defenders (But that's another story) enabling Dutch to wade through and set up Paul E for his first goal. A great flowing 3 man move saw Dutch put in by Pete again, He set up Paul M who turned sweetly to make it 4-2 - But that's where the recovery stopped and by full time Trevor had let in a further 2 goals
The team for this game was
Trevor, Pete, Chris T, Paul E, Paul M and Dutch
6th May 2003  PARTINGTON PATHETIC 8  UNICORN 3
It's total football from the Pathetic boys. That's what the fans were saying after this amazing display of skill and tactics which no team in the league should be able to live with.
The first half got off to a bad start with the opposition scoring within a minute. Trevor was in nets as he was still recovering from a groin strain and Pathetic had no subs on the bench. However Pathetic soon equalised and even though they went behind twice again, they still looked in control at 3-2 down.
By this stage Chris S has picked up a nasty knee injury from a blatant foul which went unpunished, and had replaced Trevor in nets.
Pathetic then stamped their authority on the game and with Peter leading the line with a Bullish performance and Dave providing the Majesty in midfield. It was soon 7 - 3 with a Hat-trick for Pete and 4 goals for Dave. The icing was put on the Cake when Trevor popped up Johnny Dexter (The Hard man from Roy Of The Rovers) style to ram in the 8th.
On this performance Pathetic will fear no-one and the only downside is that Trevor's groin injury was aggravated and he looks like missing at least the next game. And Chris S was also injured but hopes to be fit enough to take his place in nets in next weeks game.
The team for this game was
Trevor, Pete, Chris S, Paul E, Paul M and Dave
29th April 2003  PARTINGTON PATHETIC 5 M & A  BROWN 4
Forget the Dambusters, Gulf War veterans and John Fashanua & the Bridge of Doom. This is why the word Heroes was put in the dictionary.
Chris T was missing with Flu and Trevor was on the subs bench but carrying an injury. Pathetic were trying there new 'triangle, pinnacle Christmas Tree Easter Egg' formation with Paul E permanently playing in goals for this game. The tactics definitely worked and Pathetic took control and scored early through Duncan and then Paul. Browns scored against the run of play but Duncan scored his second to make it 3 - 1. However with 5 minutes to go to half time Pathetic started to lose there shape and it was obvious the lack of subs and their ailing years was taking affect and  inexplicably Pathetic found themselves 4 - 3 down at half-time.
Trevor decided to risk his groin and came on as a sub for the second half and indeed a maizy dribble reminiscent of his Underpants days left 3 of the opposition bemused and set Pete up for the equalizer.
Pathetic pushed on for the winner and with 6 minutes to go Duncan scored a cheeky free kick to complete a great hatrick. The last 6 minutes was like the Alamo as Pathetic were put under more pressure than a naked blonde bird trapped in my bedroom.
But there heroics prevailed and Pathetic will take great heart from their first victory.
The team for this game was
Trevor, Pete, Chris S, Dave, Paul M, Paul E and Duncan
22nd April 2003 PARTINGTON PATHETIC 1 NORTHERN MONKEYS 6
The less said about this game the better. The odds were stacked against Pathetic from the start as only 5 players turned up for kick off with Paul E and Chris T AWOL. despite the lack of numbers Pathetic actually took the lead through JJB debutant Dave but by the time Paul E arrived to bolster the 'troops' although it was still 1-0 the lads were knackered and at half time trailed 2-1. Chris T arrived with only 15 minutes to go but too late to help and the debacle ended 6-1.
The team for the game was
Trevor Pete Chris S Dave Paul M and eventually Paul E and Chris T
15th April 2003    PARTINGTON PATHETIC 4 GNC 6
A disappointing result for Pathetic in their debut game. Although the players could not be faulted for effort, their initial naive tactics and the lack of a full time goalkeeper led to their downfall, in fact had they had a goalkeeper as good as the opposition's they could have easily won the game as they were on top for most of the game.
Pathetic started the game with a 2-2-1 formation with Chris Sant in goals and within 3 minutes went ahead when Duncan scored from an acute angle, however it soon became clear that playing this formation was leaving glaring gaps through the middle and the score was soon 2-1 to the opposition. By this time Trevor had replaced Chris in nets but the opposition continued to score and at half-time led 4-2 with Paul Maloney scoring Pathetic's second.
A change of tactics at half time took Pathetic a little time to get used to and they conceded a further goal early on. Paul Eames replaced Trevor in nets with 13 minutes to go by this time Pathetic had mastered the new formation with Paul Maloney holding the middle together well. with 3 to 4 minutes left Pathetic had pulled the game back to 6 - 4 with goals from Peter and Chris S and were pelting the opposition goal with shot after shot and it was only some great saves by the opposition keeper in the final minutes which stopped Pathetic from possibly levelling the game.
The team for this game was
Trevor, Pete, Chris T, Chris S, Paul M, Paul E and Duncan
