Part One:

HANNAH KING AND WILLIAM PARTIN

By

SheRita Kae Partin

WILLIAM PARTIN, (possibly John William Partin?) was born ca. 1792 and is the father of Fanny Partin and of John M. Partin mentioned the introduction.  William was married to Hannah Louisa King about 1817, possibly in Tennessee.

Hannah Louisa King was born ca. 1793 in Tennessee; she was the daughter of Elizabeth and Thomas King; and, she is mentioned in the will of her father as the wife of William Partin.  Prior to 1850 there were several King's who had already settled in the Nacogdoches Area and many of these were the brothers and sisters of Hannah Louisa King Partin.

Hannah Louisa and William Partin are believed to have lived in Coffee County and Grundy County, Tennessee and it is from that section of Tennessee that their children migrated from to Texas.

The death dates of both William and Hannah Louisa Partin are not known; and, it is believed that they may have died and been buried in Cooke County, Texas.   The marriage records of William Anderson Partin and Caledonia Cornelison are located in both Cooke County, Texas as well as Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Mr. Robert Mosley "Bob" Partin (per telephone conversation August 10, 1991) relates that he remembers his Great Grandmother Hannah Louisa King Partin.  For this to be possible it would place her death after 1905 and while she could have possible lived to be past 100 it is not documented.  There is no proof that she was ever in Nacogdoches except Mr. Partin remembering her and her stories about the wagon train trip to Texas from Tennessee.  He also remembers that there was a sister who married James Tindall, a sister who married a Windsor,  a sister who married Wisener and a sister who married a Meeks. (Bob Partin is a direct descendant of John M. Partin).
