Fanny Partin, daughter of Hannah King and William Partin, was born sometime between 1834-7 in Tennessee; probably in either Grundy or Coffee County, Tennessee.
Nacogdoches County, Texas marriage records show that Fanny Partin married on 7 December 1854 to Mr. William H. Gibbins (Gibbons\Gibbens), who was born between 1818-1821 in Tennessee or Alabama.
William served in the Confederate States Army in Co., B., 3rd Brigade, of the Texas State Troops. He is believed to be the brother of Emmett Gibbins, who married Mary Caroline Thomas, daughter of Elizabeth and C. C. Thomas, on 4 January 1853 in Nacogdoches County and 2nd. Mrs. P.A. Gunter on 16 December 1866 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and is listed in the 1860 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.
Fanny died sometime before 19 February 1867 in Nacogdoches County, Texas, because William married a second time to Mrs. Malinda Norris on 19 February 1867 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
Malinda was a widow, but the name of her husband is not known; she had two know children at the time of her marriage to William, they were, Mary E. Norris, born ca. 1854; and James W. Norris, born ca. 1860.
It remains unknown at this time in what Cemetery in Nacogdoches County Fanny Partin Gibbins was buried.
Nor is it know when William died or where he and his second wife were buried. They family is not listed in the 1850 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas, which places their arrival here between 1850 and 1860. The probably came to Texas with the rest of the brothers and sisters sometime in 1855.
The family appears in both the 1860 and 1870 Census' as seen below. Also notice that William states in the 1860 Census that his birthplace is Tennessee while he says his birthplace is Alabama in the 1870 Census.
The relationship of the Davis family which appears in the 1860 Census with Fanny Partin and William Gibbons has never been positively identified, but it is believed that William Davis was a cousin to Fanny.
