| Clive, Marie and Anna run for cover. There is a gunfight and Paul Caine rides off. Marie sees |
| Jack lying in the street, she runs to him yelling, "Jack!, Jack!" |
| "Are you all right Jack?" He's a bit groggy. |
| Bennett and Craddock are standing outside the detachment. Jack's arm is in a sling. |
| Clive is waiting for the stage to arrive with his father Rev. Harrison Bennett. |
| "You must be gettin' cold feet... |
| this bein' yer last day 'a freedom n' all." |
| "Look, me and Couteau followed his trail 'til it was stone cold, he ain't nowhere's near |
| Bordertown." |
| The stage is heading towards town, when it stops to pick up an unexpected passenger. |
| Paul Caine talks with Rev. Bennett and finds out that his son is the mountie in Bordertown. |
| The reverend explains that his son is getting married tomorrow. |
| Caine gets off the stagecoach a few miles from town. |
| He tells the reverend that he will try to make it to the wedding. |
| Marie and Clive are in the church talking. |
| "I am very happy for you Clive, I had my chance to marry you and I didn't. It just hurts a little." |
| The stage arrives with Harrison Bennett, who tells the mountie that his mother wasn't able to |
| make the trip from Toronto. |
| "Mrs. Dumont, it is a pleasure to see you again.... |

| Marie speaking to the reverend: |
| Jack assumes she is talking to him: |
| The day of the wedding arrives. Clive talks with Anna (against Sally's wishes because it's bad luck) |
| He tells Anna that he is leaving the force. She is very happy. |
| "I've made a decision, I'm leaving the force. I can't help thinking about you Jack...wife and |
| child murdered." |
| "I wasn't wearin' a badge when they were murdered." |
| "Well, I'm hanging them up Jack." |
| "What ya gonna do become a farmer?" |
| "Anna and I will be leaving right after the wedding. Politics Jack, I think I'll run for office." |
| The moment has arrived. Jack and Clive are getting ready and having a few last words between |
| compadres. |
| Jack in a very gravelly voice, makes fun of Clive's appearance: |
| "It's been a big part of my life Jack, it doesn't come off until after the wedding." |
| "I envy you, a pretty wife n' a new start on life. |
| Jack takes his time piece from his pocket. "It's time." |
| I wish you all the luck in the world Clive." |
| "Oh Jack. will you do me one last favor?" |
| "Sure what's that?" |
| "Do you think you could shave for the wedding?" |
