| As Dr. Adams waits for the stage to take him outta town, Clive tells him not to be discouraged. |
| "You're like me when I first came here, I thought I knew everything". |
| "So what happened?" |
| "The marshal was quick in letting me know I didn't. I learned more from a walk down the |
| street with him, than I ever learned at Upper Canada College." |

| Jack blows his nose and looks up at Marie who is putting her office sign back up. |
| "It felt like the town was missin' a tooth without that sign there Marie." |
| "Why thank you Jack, what a charming way to put it." |
| Clive tells Jack he has seen this sort of thing before...people thinking they know everything |
| because they have an education. |
| The lawmen decide to head back out to the creek in case there is more trouble. |
| As they lead their horses from the livery stable Jack mentions Marie... |
| Jack laughs and shakes his head, "If anybody knew that type you would." |
| Of course there is more trouble: |

| Jack instructs DeWalts men to take down the fence. |
| Henry Jordan's son appears from out of nowhere and |
| fire's a shot...one of the ranch hands shoots at him. The boy falls from his horse and tumbles |
| down the bank into the creek...his leg is badly broken. |
| Clive takes the boy to the Jordan ranch while Jack goes for Marie. |
| Marie operates and saves his leg. |
