The Fur Trader
Big Bart is found stabbed on the trail, his horse and furs are missing...Marie cannot save his life.
Meanwhile, an old friend of Marie's (Julien Lussac) arrives in Bordertown. He proposes to
Marie and tries to convince her they will live the high life in France.
Julien's associate Eldon (Big Bart's killer), makes it look as though Julien is the murderer,
At first Jack is eager to believe that "Frenchie" is guilty, and locks him up.
"Somethin' just don't sit right Clive, he ain't got no motive for killin' Big Bart, ya know"
They agree they have the wrong man in prison.....
With Eldon behind bars, Julien is now free to return to France with their precious Marie.
Marie explains that she will not marry Julien, Bordertown is her home now.
Clive and Jack celebrate!
And devise a plan to get Eldon to admit his guilt...fellow furtrader Nolte, will pretend Big Bart
had a unique way of skinning his furs. Eldon falls for the bluff and makes an attempt to
escape....the lawmen catch him (of course!)
But is she too angry to say good-bye? The boys wait and wonder.
But upon reflection...he figures...
Jack promises to find his killer.
The lawmen find a bone fragment from
the handle of the murder weapon.
But Lussac happens to deal in the fur trade...Jack is suspicious.
