The Convoy (continued)
Marie, Jack and Gabriel go to the aid of Corporal Bennett.
Jack tells Couteau to stay with Marie, he will go
after "the mounties."
The marshal goes back to Bordertown and
questions Richards. Then he returns to Clive and
borrows his uniform. He knows that the men are waiting for Richards.
Jack puts on Clive's uniform and intends to trick the "mounties" into thinking he's Richards.
Unfortunately, the ombres intend to kill Richards and split his share of the take when they sell
the gun. As Jack approaches, he is whistling the theme from Bordertown.
They shoot at Jack with the gatlin gun.
Our hero Jack Craddock overpowers the ombres.
Clive is taken back to Bordertown.
Later:
Jack tells Marie he has an important letter he needs
Bennett to read for him. She says Clive needs to rest,
she will read the letter. Jack can't find it.
Marie realizes that Craddock just wants an excuse to
check on his compadre.
Clive makes fun when he sees Jack in his uniform.
"You know Jack, I didn't think you'd be so partial to
the serge." Marie says she thinks Jack looks handsome.
Clive: "Well, when you start with nothing, anything is
an improvement."
Jack is insulted. He removes the jacket.
"You know Jack, the recruitment officer is coming next week,
I can put in a good word for you."
