KIS is an open VM based system, which has all the business logic of all Kaman processes. Moreover, it has been constantly in the development/enhancement phase for the last 10 to 15 years. In the nature of Kaman`s business, suppliers, customers and their needs was inherent Kaman`s problem. With customers such as Procter & Gamble whose plants parties need the instant availability of home parties spare parts provided by Kaman, Kaman needed to have a more convenient, readily accessible and expeditious mode of handling orders. Not only that but this system had to integrate with Kaman`s legacy environment, KIT. Kaman approached Techlogix and Informix to develop a web-based version of their 1.4 million SKU catalog.
