When A nation Honors God-Part 2

Christianity and the Ten Commandments expose man's rebellious nature and places restraints on it. Subversive forces are aware of this and work to change or neutralize the teachings and authority of the Bible and the church. Hence the reason to solidify the imaginary wall of separation between the Church and the State and remove prayer and the Bible from our schools and the Government.

George Washington also knew this and said:
"True religion affords government it's surest support. The future of this nation depends
on the Christian training of the youth. It is impossible to govern without the Bible."
Hence, for this reason, schools and textbooks of the American Colonial period were Bible oriented. For over 100 years first graders learned to read from the New England Primer. It taught the ABC's this way:

A - In Adam's Fall, We Sinned All
B - Heaven To Find, The Bible Mind
             C - Christ Crucify'd, For Sinners dy'd

Even as late as when I was in school, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited daily before classes began. Also, daily, before lunch, a prayer of thanksgiving was offered. God has always smiled favorably on any nation who has honored Him. The singing shepherd from the hills of Judea wrote:
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord . . . ." Psalms 33:12 (NKJV)
". . . Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain."
                                                                                                           Psa. 127:1 (NKJV)
The America that Alexis de Tocqueville visited and described in his writings, was still supreme until 1963. I well remember Madalene O'Hare (later Murray) kicking her heels in the air, declaring before the U. S. Supreme Court that prayer and the Bible were unconstitutional in our schools. We Christians sat smugly by, saying to ourselves there was no way the High Court would listen to her. Somehow, we had forgotten the old adage,
"The squeaky wheel gets the grease." Only one wheel was squeaking! We should have been right beside her squeaking our wheels!

Alexis de Tocqueville also wrote, ". . . .if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."

Time is of the essence! The hour is late. We are past due putting back into both houses of Congress, "good" men and women who fear God, have Christ in their hearts and have an intimate understanding of the American Constitution.

America is no longer the manufacturing giant she once was. Rather, America has become a service nation. No longer is America a financial giant; rather, she has become a debtor nation. What do we propose to do about it?
