Summary
I have over 14 years of consulting and operational experience in the financial markets industry covering all aspects of the capital markets from policy development and strategy through to operational implementation. I have worked in a variety of roles: senior capital markets specialist for the USAID FIRE Project, Business Development Director at CRISIL, Senior Consultant at I-Flex Solutions, Principal Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and General Manager for the OTCEI.
My varied experience provides me with a deep understanding of the dynamics of the market, including international best practices. My experience as a catalyst in driving through policy reforms in the capital markets provides me with a unique combination of skills and a broad perspective covering all areas related to the securities industry.
I have been particularly interested in areas of investor protection, retail distribution of financial products and increasing retail investor participation in Indian markets.
I possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and have excellent working experience and relationships with senior market regulators, market players and international consultants.

Senior Consultant, Financial Institutions Reform and Expansion (FIRE-R) Project- Capital Markets, Phase II, August 2001 to present
The FIRE-R Capital Markets Project is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and has successfully assisted Indian Capital Market Institutions in initiating and implementing structural reforms since the early 1990s. The focus of the FIRE II Project is on assisting the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Ministry of Finance in various measures designed to improve the efficiency of the markets.
General responsibilities
� Supporting the Chief of Party in project management activities, including the development and monitoring of work plans, project deliverables and managing project resources
� Managing the relationship with USAID and the key project counterparts, including SEBI and the Ministry of Finance
� Providing assistance and local market knowledge to visiting international consultants
� Lead consultant in certain key areas
Key focus areas of consulting assistance include:
- Broadening retail investor participation in India capital markets
- Raising professional standards and competency levels of all market intermediaries
- Institutional strengthening and restructuring of SEBI
- Strengthening SEBI�s market surveillance systems.
- Improving Disclosure norms for the Indian primary and secondary market.
