Synopsis
Synopsis
The show begins in Hobbs Corner, NC in the present time. The setting is Vernon Ledbetter's back yard, mid afternoon. Vernon and Wally Stockdale have lived in Hobbs Corner, a tiny mountain village all of their lives and worked at the local Farm Co-op since high school. Both play guitar or whatever they can lay their hands on for their own amusement. They have, to say the least, been sheltered from the world all of their lives but one day decide to go in search of the Paradise that Wally heard about in a Jimmy Buffett song.
The play takes them out on the open road in search of this elusive Eden. They follow the  road in an old Winnabago thru South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida and encounter another world full of all kinds of people and music.
If you like old Rock and Roll, a bit of Jazz and Blues and throw in some down home Country music seasoned with just the right amount of pure mountain humor your in for a true southern fried treat for the entire family.

Well we headed on down that 'ol highway but we didn't get very far before we realized that South Carolina had some interesting requirements along their highway system. We saw this here sign that read "Clean Restrooms Ahead". Well we both looked at each other and decided that we should be neighborly and help 'em out if that's what they wanted. So a couple of miles up the road was this here Rest Stop... now I bet yer thinkin' we went in there and cleaned the restrooms arn't ya? Well we didn't !  We saw them restrooms were already clean so we picked up the trash around the building. We weren't sure just what to do with it so we just threw it into the Winnabago and went on our way. Now if any of you are from South Carolina and you feel like we shirked our duity in any way we'll be happy to go back there and clean some more.
Georgia was completely different. Once we crossed the Georgia line we saw another sign that read " FINE FOR LITTERING". Well we just looked at each other in amazement! We had never been anywhere that wanted you to litter. Then VERNON said that it must be some sort of program to keep the state prisoners busy so we started chunkin' out Skol cans, empty cigarette packs, beer cans, potato chip wrappers and all the other stuff we had picked up at that South Carolina rest stop out the window. Lord we probably left a trail ten miles long.
A couple of miles up the road was this here Georgia State Patrol Officer sittin' alongside the road. We smiled and waved as we went past. He waved back too.
I guess someone had called him on his police radio to tell him what a good job we did litterin up his highway.
