These cards are illustrated with masks and designs from the Northwest Coast Native American tradition. The cards are available in two different back colors and come in clear lucite boxes. The double decks come with one of each back color in double-size clear lucite boxes.


Ace of Hearts

Ace of Hearts - Front face mask worn at Winter Festival dances, Spirit of Bear and Dragonfly; Haida, Queen Charloffe Islands.

King of Hearts - Mystery of the Sea case mask; N.W. Coast.

Queen of Hearts - Woman's mask, held in front of face, not worn; Inuit, Kuskokwim Valley.

Jack of Hearts - Shaman rattle of Loon spirit, messenger from men to spirit world; Vancouver Island.




Jack of Spades

Ace of Spades - Moon mask, front face mask; Tsimshian.

King of Spades - Front face mask of Sea Monster eating baby seal; Kwatiutl, N.W. coast.

Queen of Spades - Shaman mask of Negafok, the cold weather spirit, mask held in front of face; Inuit, Kuskokwim River area, Alaska.

Jack of Spades - Raven headdress; Skagit.





Ace of Diamonds - Shaman Mask with tambourine made of puffin beaks; Tlinglit, N.W. coast.

King of Diamonds - Shaman Mask with Bear spirit; Tlinglit.

Queen of Diamonds - Shaman headdress, a mosquito; Tlinglit.

Jack of Diamonds - Killer Whale; N.W. coast.


Red Joker

Red Joker - Totem pole and house posts depict super natural and legendary characters as well as ancestors. Some are stories and clan histories; N.W. coast.

Black Joker - Hokhokw bird used by Humatsa, the cannibal society, covers whole head and has movable jaw; Kwakiutl, N.W. coast.
