Thom Parrott is an award winning Tarot reader and a writer on
the Tarot, spiritual and occult arts, philosophies, rituals and practices
including those of the Golden Dawn tradition and modern Wicca.
Thom's writing on the Musical Qabala is virtually unique.
Thom Parrott first encountered the Tarot in 1975, receiving a series of readings from Bart Green. During this experience, it became plain that the laws of probability were not operating -- that the Tarot cards were not appearing at random but that something was "stacking the deck." Subsequently, Thom studied Tarot with Bart, with Oz Anderson and with Star and Jesse Coyote
and by reading dozens of books. Mr. Parrott has been reading the Tarot for others since 1980.
Thom's mother, Margaret Parrott, an accomplished artist, has produced a Tarot deck based on the
Golden Dawn tradition as exemplified by Aleister Crowley's Thoth Deck and Pamela Coleman-Smith's Rider-Waite deck. At the time Mrs. Parrott was doing the paintings for her deck, Thom was exploring the astrological significance of the trapped asteroid Chiron. Together, Thom and Margaret came up with four new Tarot cards associated with Chiron: the Mentors.
