Chucky 4 weeks 08/19/02- Chucky is getting much lauder at feeding time letting me know hes hungry & ready to be fed. hes started to stand a bit better with more balance not tumbling or crouching to eat anymore. he stand up & streches his head to peek over to cry for his food now. he makes thes funny little honking noises.
Chucky 5 weeks 08/26/02- Chucky getting feather cones on his wings.he slept most the day. hes up and around more this early evening.he has his birdie buddy to cuddle with which he really seems to like. i got red but wanted a gray one the pet store didnt have it. they said red is a natural enimy color in the wild & most birds are afraid of it. but hes a trooper he loves to cuddle & sleep with it.
Chucky 7 weeks 09/09/02- Chucky 1st time intraduced pellets. Chucky playing with the pellets.hes a bit scared in his new temporary home;cockatiels cage. he so curious he loves to watch everything. hes using his feet more & hes started to preen his feathers.he is really quiet except when its time to feed him he lets he know. hes a pig with wings & he cant get enough.
Chucky is 8 weeks 09/16/02- he has learned to perch better and has been able to sleep on his perch now. He is still playing and eating just a little of the pellets and i am still hand feeding him. he had red tail feather cones showing now. He's becoming more aware of whats going on and he is more curios as to what is going an around him.
Chucky 9 weeks 09/23/025- I have been letting Chucky curl up with me on the couch when i watch tv.his cries of being scared have changed to little cherps of curiosity.he's been climbing on the cage more. he's got strong feet i had to trim his toenails just the tips cus they were ouch sharp. He's learning to step up on my finger now & he does it when he is ready to come out for his feedings.he has learned to balance on the perch on one foot & hes able to perch and fall asleep on the perch.hes climbing on the cage more now.I put water dish in the cage yesterday and he hasn't touched it yet. hes got his red tail feathers in now and all his wing feathers.
Chucky 10 weeks 09/30/02- Chucky defenaltey knows his name; i say to "Hi Chucky" & he gets all excited bobbing his head around & cherping to me. he's figured out how to crack open the seeds in his dish? i palyed with his water dish 2 day and let the water drip off my finger into his mouth to let him know its ok;he loved that.i wanted him to know it was there for drinking and it was safe;but i am yet to see him drink water on his own out of the dish.I put his cage with the other birds today so they could all see each other & what a racket they all made;there way of saying hello who the heck are you!
Chucky 11 weeks 10/07/02- I moved Chucky into another temporary cage into the bird room whitch is larger so he can have more room to climb.he's much better with his ballance and is hanging upside doawn now. I am still giving him 2-3 hand feedings day as we work on the weaning process. I added a perch on top his cage so he has a place to sit when he come out. He flew today so i am slowly clipping his wings till he gets use to landing safely.
Chucky 12 weeks 10/14/02- Chucky is wanting more attention and cuddle time with mommy.He's eating more pellets now so i am only hand feeding him in the after noon and before bed time to insure hes getting moisture;i have yet to see him drink water out his water dish. i let him play on top his cage when i am in the bird room but when i leave i put him the back of my chair in the room i am in the longest. I dont want him to get in a bad habbit of jumping off his cage and fallowing me becuse i don't want him to get hurt if i dont know where hes off to.
Chucky 13 weeks 10/21/02- Chucky still eating pellet and 2 hand feedings a day. He's got new toys to chew on but haven't seen him touch them yet. He tries to cherp at the other birds like he's trying to answer them back. When hes out on the couch with me he likes to hide his head under my shirt or sweater and got to sleep. He loves to have his head and neck stroked but love his head covered with my shirt best.
July 22nd 2003 Chucky is now 1 years old- He wolf whistles & memics alot sounds around the house; especially the sounds from our childrens games.He takes showers with me or a bathes under the soft water mist in the kitchen sink. he also likes to bathe in his water dish.Hes a real sweety and very playfull. He always comes running to get a bite of what ever were eating. He doesn't talk yet but we love him the same.
