Hi everyone,
Just got back online after having to have my DSL modem sent away. While I catch up on everyone's emails, I have more sad news. Today I lost one of the babies that I hand fed not that long ago. I know I sent pics when they were little, the one that died today was hatched in March. In a freak accident, he got his wing stuck in the front of the cage after I left for work. I was almost at work when my parents called me, my Dad got him unstuck, but apparently he broke his wing. I immediately got on my cell phone trying to see if my vet could squeeze me in due to the emergency (this was 8:15am), they said they would ask and call me back, I had my Dad put him in a hospital cage w/ heat. Mean while I'm trying to find another avain vet, I talk to my supervisor and the let me leave work (9AM). At this point I'm so worried about him that I leave work, all I can think about is that he's gonna die from shock, I called home and he was still ok. I think I was doing around 80mph on the freeway and just as I was almost home the vet called and said to bring my cockatiel in. When I got home (9:15AM) I ran into the house and moved the heating pad and he had passed away already. All I can do is cry and wonder how I could've let this happen to him.
