Round 2
Tallbloke, Head and Shoulders above the rest
After a lack lustre round 1, by his standards, Tallbloke Mark Mitchell took a fine TQ and win for round 2. Having said that taking driving tips from Bluto and Missing link for round 4 saw him nearly handing the TQ point to none other than John Goodman voiced, Blue fur covered Dave Morris, leaving only one 10th of a second in hand for pole.

Also taking lessons from the tail of the B, was Mark Williams, who was strangely locked in an unusual contest with the missing link to see who could hit the most barriers and bot dots in any one round. In the end it was a close run thing, but no one was going to beat Cliff really.

Once again FUK champion Rob, finished 2nd. Surely this isnt an omen for the overall series result is it??? With his mechanic's fears of snow being well justified (surely anyone that can predict the first snow fall of the winter a week before, has to be some sort of genius, Ps. Spanners didnt predict that weather) and actually opted to travel south (and along a bit) to "Sunny" Austria which is a far too close to Switzerland for my liking.

Making his return to the Tamiya class was half season specialist Simon Knight, who's third place has given him useful points to encourage him into making a second appearance in the series. However you can just tell that by round 4, with 3 scores on the table and dwindling championship hopes, that he will be back to complete his 3 rounds in Super Stock touring for rounds 5 and 6. Having said that, i have heard rumours that a price has been put on Mr Knight's head, after Barry had been served up one too many T-bone's. Quite a shock as well after 2 weeks of defending Barry's honour on the Forum.

On the subject of Barry, Respect (as well as royalties) must be paid, after the A final lined up to Copacabana being played over the PA system, he manage to do so without ever breaking into a smile. However the Olympiad management would like to speak to him with regards the hole that he burnt in the sports hall brick work opposite the rostrum, as he stood concentrating, focused on the race ahead, never flinching.

Disappointingly Andy Pratt finished nearly a lap down on 9th place finisher Jon Simblet, after a reasonably impressive qualifying. However this was mainly due to a change of persona ready for the drive home. Shortly after the final, Andy was seen appearing from make up, somewhat resembling actor Morgan Freeman and wearing a Chauffeurs uniform. Good job spanners didn't travel north as Andy could have been the 1st person to be Celica'd.

A final reject Forum Fodder was not at all bitter that he had been bumped from the A by someone switching classes. As the addition of the 'Little Bastard' into the A final meant that B final spoils were up for grabs. Oh great.... Thanks a lot... You wan*er. I'll add 20 to what Barry is offering to have him off'd.

Bob's uncanny impression of the Fast show's 'Unlucky Alf' continued from round 1. For those who need reminding here is a section of Bob's thoughts during the B final,

'Oh look, some back markers are fighting over which section of guttering they each want to take     out 2 corners ahead. Knowing my luck i'll catch them, get taken out at the same time as my speedo mysteriously switches itself off'

(2 corners later)

'Oh Bugger!!!!'

Other than that, Paul Collins doesnt get a mention this round, as he drilled far too many people to be considered.

Thats it for 2004, Merry xmas, and A Happy New Year
