So that was fun! I also brought my Van costume to my first AnimeCentral, in 2001. Want to see some pics of my first cosplaying experience? Enjoy, but try not to laugh too much! ^_^

This was my first ever attempt at cosplaying, done in October of...of...2000, I believe! Quite awhile ago, isn't it? That was way back when FOX Kids was showing Escaflowne on TV, and I absolutely loved it, despite the edits and dubbing, cause it was an anime I've been wanting to see for awhile! So, Halloween comes around, and I start to think of costumes...no witch, no kitty, whaaat should I be...well, none other than Lord Van, of course!!
The costume's not too hard, either...I wore my khaki pants from work, and found a red lace-up-front shirt at Rue 21, which pretty much covers the basics. Then I got thick tan-colored thread and put that in the laces for the shirt, cause Van's laces are tan, and used my black heeled boots, just cause...well, they were boots! ^_^;;
Then! I bought a plastic sword at the Halloween store, and I wanted biiiig white wings, cause, well *points to background* Van's got big, beautiful, angelic white wings! and I found some, that I wanted, but I didn't have enough money with me -_-. Then, when I went back with enough money, they were all sold out, and only had little ones left...I was so sad :( But I bought the smaller ones, and colored the white straps red with a permanent marker, to kinda match my shirt ^_^
And thats it! I didn't even put up a real table for this one, cause there really wasn't a lot of work put into this ^_^;; But I had a great time running around in my Van costume, first time cosplaying! Even though no one in my neighborhood knew who I was...doesn't ANYbody watch FOX kids?!
