Wolf's Rain

Again, this started out with someone telling me to watch Wolf's Rain, cause it was "so freaking awesome, you have to!"

So....I did! I got a few eps, and after I was through them, I thought it was pretty cool. It definitely intrigued me. So when I heard on cosplay.com that a few people were interested in cosplaying Wolf's Rain characters, I jumped right on it! I got super excited about the Tsume (Yay! A Tsume to glomp!) and then when Yui said she'd be Darcia?! Hooraaaaaaaaay!

It wasn't till winter break that I started on Cher though...I was making costumes all through the month I had off, and it got to be a week before I went back to school and I had nothing to do...which just wasn't right! Need...something...to make...so I hopped over to Hobby Lobby, bought about 3 1/2 yards of grey cotton, and got to work!

Everything pretty much went smoothly, it was my first time making lapels and that got kind of interesting (I used craft-fuse instead of regular interfacing in them so they're rather...stiff and crunchy) and again, my annoying curse of thinking a skirt is the right length, cutting it, and then finding out after its made that its a weee bit too skimpy. This one wasn't so bad though, cause it looked fine, I just had to be careful ^^;;;;

The shoes and shirt were bought at Goodwill for $2 each (the shirt is silk, even! Ooh it felt so nice ^_^) and money and hotel card were kept in the belty-thing around the middle. All in all, this costume was comfy, functional, and so much fun to be in!
