Plant Trading Cards: Sketch examples of leaves from 8 trees on index cards. Include the entire leaf in your sketch!! On the back, include the required information. Your sketches must be properly colored!! Include a table of contents card at the beginning.

Try to get each example from a different family. Your specimens should be in alphabetical order according to family. Include your name on each page of your collection.

Information for each page:

a. Family

b. Scientific Name

c. Common name

d. Habitat

e. Location found

f. Fact

g. Gymnosperm or Angiosperm

For your angiosperms, also include the following information:

h. Plant type (monocot/ dicot)

i. Leaf venation (palmate/ pinnate/ parallel)

j. Leaf type (simple/ complete)

k. Flower type (complete or incomplete)

Bonus: Make a collection of 20 trees and 20 flowers. You must include in your collection half the examples from trees and half the examples from flowers. Flowers must include the flower and a leaf. Leaves must include the entire leaf. Include a variety of samples, illustrating complete and incomplete flowers; compound and simple leaves; pinnate, palmate and parallel venation; etc. More points will be awarded for greater variety of examples. Project is due May 5. Leaf cards may include the 8 turned in for the plant assignment April 24.
