MISTAKES OR UNPROVEN/CONTROVERSIAL PARK(E)S
GENEALOGY

Thomas Parks I married Sara Miller
(Mere speculation that in 1692 Thomas Parks was given "so much land as he may use" in Virginia by Simon Miller who may have had a daughter named Sarah.  No proof that this was our Thomas Parks (of Ballingers Mountain) who died in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1761)
Thomas Parks I married Mary Graves
(Mere speculation as the Graves Family did live or were in close proximity to the Parks Family across Virginia and on into North Carolina)
Thomas Parks of Westmoreland County Virginia as Father of our Thomas Parks
(Mere speculation by Charles C. Hayes in his book "Hayes, Johnson and Allied Families Genealogical Family History.  The information in this book which was widely distributed should never be used unless thoroughly checked)
Descendants of Charles Parks, son of Thomas Parks I of Virginia
No documented proof has ever been found of any descendents of Charles Parks, son of Thomas Parks I of Virginia.
Thomas Parks, Deed Bk. 2 pg. 332 27 Mar 1741, Orange Co. Va. "Thomas Parks immediately imported into colony from Great Britain or Ireland". "Tinkling Springs Presbyterian Church importation notes, John Parks, 25 Nov. 1736 and Thomas Parks 14 Apr 1741
(In Nugents Immigrants to Virginia "Cavaliers and Pioneers" alone, there were at least thirty two Park/Parke/Parks/Parkes imported into Virginia at dates making it possible for them to be the father of our Thomas Parks I.  There were other lists of Parks importations in the same area at the same time, making it mind boggling to trace them out with very few records.  Therefore the widely circulated therory that our Thomas Parks was the immigrant has never been proven)
Thomas Parks II married Priscilla Blanton
(Mere speculation as a Richard Blanton left a will in Spotsylvania County, Virginia in 1733 with one of the heirs being a daughter Priscilla Blanton.  This has been widely circulated on the Internet and other places)
Samuel Parks (son of Thomas I) and Mary North
(No descendants of this couple have ever been proven, although widely distributed by LDS and others.  Especially LDS Ancestral File number YJ85-DJ which lists some 130 descendants, many of who belong to other proven Parks families.  This list also includes two Reuben Parks and two Moses Parks who are a very grey area in the minds of many Parks researchers, including this oversight committee)
Thomas Parks III married to Rachel Hoot
(Thomas Parks and his wife Sarah were still married and living together with ten grown children when this marriage took place in the early 1800's)
Thomas Parks III married to Sarah Carriger or Carringer
(Widely circulated on the Internet and with Hoot scratched out and Carringer taped over with scotch tape in the Charles C. Hayes Book above)
