Thomas A. Biela

I’m always a little reluctant to write about myself but here goes. I wish I could find a copy of my last line of B.S. that I sent you for the last book but we have all of our non-essentials packed away in storage.

We bought a little house with acreage near Jackson Community College and are in the process of building our dream house right next door. It’s a little challenging in 900 square feet at times, especially now with all three kids home from college for the summer. It is very convenient being right next door to the project though. I just happened to be driving down the road on the way to a jobsite one day when I saw a "For Sale" sign on the house. I made a couple of cell phone calls to some broker friends, called Wendy, and made a deposit on the property within four hours. Our new house is about 75% complete and we hope to be moved in by the end of summer.

Our good news is the fact that we are very fortunate that we don’t have any real bad news. Wendy (Sheridan) and I are blessed to be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this June. I met her in Mr. Hunt’s bookkeeping class at Parkside in 1965. Our oldest son Greg (24) has begun working with me full time in the business (Biela Construction) and the youngest son Geoff (21) still has two more years at Western for his Construction Engineering degree. Daughter Kim (22) has two more years at Western for her degree in Special Education. I’m really looking forward to the graduations ... I don’t know how many more times they can resole my shoes.
