Well, here we are 35 years later. Few things have stayed the same for me. The one thing that has remained the same is my work. I’m still a meat cutter for Polly’s (35 years on June 15th). I’ve since become the senior employee with the company. Ten years ago I had plans for retirement at 55. Since that time, reality has set in and I’ve changed that to 59 or 60. That’s okay — better pension at that age.

I remember saying I wanted to open a Custom Golf Shop. As time passes I’ve found that I prefer to keep club-fitting/repairing as a hobby.

As for family I have four children, two girls and two boys. The oldest is 35, the youngest is 16. I have six grandchildren. The oldest is 16 and the youngest are three-year-old twin boys.

As for me, the last two and a half years have been the best years of my life. I gave up a drinking habit that I’ve had for more years than we’ve been out of school. It’s amazing how the world around me got so much better. It really helped my golf game, too. I’m very happily single; I’m an active member in my church and I’ve taken up two new hobbies — the computer and backpacking.

I do have a lady friend who is handicapped and spends most of her time in a wheelchair with M.S. Thanks to my lady friend I call my angel, wonderful parents, and the good Lord above, life is good.
