When Daniel came to visit Itsuka in Palmerston North, they found themselves talking a lot about their future together. It was during this time that Daniel, on bended knee at a beach close to Palmerston North (can't give away too many l details!) that Daniel asked Itsuka if she would do the honour of becoming his wife, to which she gladly accepted!
Soon after, on April 14th, 2001, (commemorating the sinking of Titanic) Daniel had the world premiere of his long-awaited film "45 Days" in Oamaru. It was at this occasion that close family and friends were also able to celebrate his engagement to Itsuka.
The official engagement party took place on August 11th, 2001, in Oamaru.
