Today http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=home This is the best English language on-line newspaper in my opinion with some short but interesting articles. It seems to always have the latest news, plus photos and a discussion board in which gaijin (foreigners in Japan) fight over current topics. |

Metropolis http://metropolis.japantoday.com/default.asp Listed as the No.1 English magazine, it is a great weekly source of information about Japan in English. It also has a great website that also contains an interesting classified section -find out what gaijin are selling in Japan! |

The Japan TImes http://www.japantimes.com/ The on-line edition of the popular English newspaper in Japan. However, the site does not seem to be as up-to-date as Japan Today. |

The Last Samurai http://lastsamurai.warnerbros.com/ A Hollywood movie, filmed in NZ and using famous Japanese actors about an American soldier (Tom Cruise as gaijin) who learns the way of the Samurai. Appropriately, we enjoyed watching this movie about west-meeting-east on our second wedding anniversary and felt it was the first Hollywood movie to show the 'real' Japan. |

Titanic -the
movie http://www.titanicmovie.com/ We both really loved this film before we even met! James Cameron accurately portays the history and realism of one of the most infamous sea disasters, using it as a backdrop to a dramatic love story. This site contains some great extras. |
