Kumamoto |
The city of Kumamoto in Kyushu was a time to meet with several friends.
Itsuka's mother caught up with long-time friends (above)... while
Itsuka caught up with friends who attended the same college
in New Zealand. They took us on a wonderful tour of
the area... (below)
Above: A long car journey brought us to this beautiful location with its famous
clean spring waters we were able to taste.
Later we tasted some local food, being the first time for some us to try
eating eel (delicious!).
But Kumamoto-Jo (castle) was certainly the highlight, an impressive structure with a moat.
We were greet by a guard in costume before climbing to the top of the building
and taking a look over the city of Yamamoto.
